From what people are saying on the internets, a possible low-risk-high reward defenseman. He was a forward converted to D and has offensive upside. His NHL career was derailed by injuries and the pandemic.

I think he’s gonna be a good one. Very curious to see how he does either on the bottom pairing or with Kylington. Would reckon he and Pachal fight for the #4 spot.

I can't say that I understand this. Hopefully, this guy is the next late bloomer like Gio or at least Deryk Engelland

Glad we didn't let him hit Free Agency. Who knows how many other team would be after him

He is an intriguing prospect with size and skill. He will get the opportunity and the runway in Calgary now to go as far as he can, because he wasn't able to get much in Vegas. It is wide-open, especially if he is the type of player that can run a PP. Calgary has been missing that for a long time now.

Eesh.
Clearly a case of PR timing in trying to help justify/sell the fans/put a positive spin on the deal.

Recall the time the Flames extended Tim Jackman as their only order of business, on one TD day. One guess as to who the GM was then.

I’m buddies with former Flames legend Adam Cracknell who has been Daniel’s teammate in Henderson. He says the guy is a player for what it’s worth.

Far better than the returns we got for Iginla and Bouwmeester

Not a lot of downside here. Would have liked to see him signed for for 3 years to maximize the potential upside for the flames if they believe he is good enough to be a 4d

I can’t help but feel great for the pro and amateur scouts in the Flames organization. They finally have a GM that seems to finally value their opinion as is intent on giving them the ammunition they need to be successful. Considering the guys they’ve been collecting have all been contributing, so far so good.

Maybe I'm too optimistic sometimes, but I'm weirdly excited to see what this guy can do with a better opportunity.

The Flames obviously think he's got some game to sign him this quickly to an extension.

Why sign him to an extension before watching him play.

Sure it’s not a lot of money, but still

Huge emphasis on our scouting teams so far in Conroy's tenure.

Well, they've watched him play lots according to Conroy. They think he's gonna be a good one.

We'll see.

Conroy has added Sharangovich, Kuzmenko, and Miromanov, who are all represented by Milstein. Pospisil is also one of his clients.

Grushnikov is the only recent eastern European acquired who is not repped by Milstein (his agent is Craig Oster).
