Anyone play this? I heard it was very good. Also will my video card be alright? I have a GeoForce Go 6150.

I play occasionally - you need to get the Magna Mundi Gold mod for it though, it improves the game from kinda "meh" to "decent". The one big problem I have with it is that a game can take upwards of 12-18 hours, and it's difficult for my ADD mind to concentrate that long (leaving aside the question of whether that's a valuable use of one's time).

If you are a history buff it's quite interesting to play contra-historically to see if you can succeed; for example I've tried conquering France as the English, continuing the Hundred Year's War into a second, third and fourth century... You can also play as a historically "backward" nation and see if you can acquire European technology and methods and then fight off the colonial powers, or make your own colonial empire for that matter. Really, though, the mod adds so much content I can't even imagine playing without it.

As far as your video card goes, I think you just need 128 mb RAM and DirectX 9 or better capable to play. I know my gaming machine cpu/video is almost 4 years old and I have no trouble playing at all.

Here are the specs. From everything I've heard this is a great game - if you pick up the right mods and have the right mindframe. There's also a new one out called Europa Universalis: Rome, but it's apparently still quite glitchy at the moment. Anyways here are the system req's.

system requirements:
• 1.9GHz Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon processor or equivalent with 512MB RAM
• (1.0GB RAM is highly recommended)
• 128MB Video Card with Hardware T&L and support for Pixelshader 2.0 or better
• DirectX7 compatible sound card
• CD-ROM drive
• Windows-compatible mouse; Mouse with scroll wheel highly recommended
• At least 1GB of free hard drive space to accommodate game files and saved games. This does not include any space used by the Windows® swap file.
• DirectX9.0c
• High-speed Modem connection is required for multiplayer games
• Windows® 2000 (with Service pack 1 or higher) or Windows® XP (Home/Professional/Media Edition) with Service Pack 2
