Oh, I drank all right. And then right before my wedding my best friend took me on a tour through wine country. Yeah, I kept tasting different wines and then pretty soon I was cheating on my fiancee with some Asian lady. Is that what you want?! Hmmm?! The Asian lady from "Grey´s Anatomy" punching you in the face!! CAUSE THIS HERE IS REAL!!

Agreed. They often use her too much. They need to find another strong female main player to help spread out the sketches. Ever since Tina Fey and Amy Poehler left, no one has been able to jump in.

I started to like Jenny Slate, but we all know what happened there.

And the humor just isn't subtle anymore.

I grew up in the glory years of the shows first lets say 10 years, where you had brilliant skits like the Killer Bee's, the Samuri Short Order Cook, Its a wonderful life alternate ending.

Weekend updates with Dan Akroyd, and Dennis Miller and even Tina Fey were brilliant.

The show has really lost steam, I'd say its as bad or worse then the cast that should have worked but failed with Robert Downey Jr, Anthony Michael Hall etc.
I think this is selective nostalgia. If you watch a re-run of an entire old 1970s episode, half of those skits sucked too. It has always been hit and miss.

The Behind the Scenes doumentary on NBC last week was very interesting.

I'm going to see Norm MacDonald this Saturday with some CP folks!

What's funny about the bump is it could have been from today and nobody would know the difference. I read the whole thread and didn't know until Seb's post.

haha, i had no idea this was a bumped thread. But troutman was right, Stefon is the best character SNL has right now.^

I`ve watched each episode this season, there`s been a few great laughs, but like any other SNL season, there`s a lot of crap.

Bill Hader is easily the most talented cast member with Kristen Wiig coming in second IMO. But I agree with an above post, we`re getting a lot of Wiig crammed down our throats.

Not this weekend but the next could be interesting. They have done 3 or 4 renditions of the Miley Cyrus Show and sure enough, the real Miley Cyrus will be hosting. Could be funny, but it could fail miserably as well.

Also, we need more jay pharoah doing his Denzel imitation. It`s spot on and very funny. Sorry, I couldn`t embed.

Jason Sudekis dancing in that track suit during the "Whats up with that?" sketches gets me every time as well.

I totally agree and the documentary summed it up perfectly, every era looks back at the previous era and says "this was the glory days" but really, it wasn't. When Dana Carvey was on the other week and they did church lady and wayne's world they were funny mostly for nostalgia's sake and not really because they were inherently funny and it's not like the differed a tonne from when they aired in the 90s. You tend to remember the gems and forget the misses.

I would argue that some of the most memorable sketches/digital shorts were from the last 4-5 years (dick in a box, mother lover, anything with John Hamm).

I think Kristin Wiig is terrible. She is grating and all her characters have become incredibly unfunny.

She was great at first...

By at first, you mean the Joe Schmoe Show, right?

That and I was able to see her as a member of The Groundlings. I never laughed so hard in my life. She can do pretty much anything you throw at her.

Agreed, except for her being great at first.

Her comedy seems to be:

1. Come up with 1 quirk;
2. Amplify it 250%;
3. Add a silly face;
4. Cram it down the audience's throat.

I know right? SNL hasn't been funny in a pretty long time. The only one I find funny is Bill Hader, everyone else sucks.

There are rumours he's going to appear in Ghostbusters 3. Hopefully it works out. I really enjoyed his supporting role in Superbad
