I'm no avgeek so don't know my plane names, but a huge US air force transport plane just flew overhead at the Zoo. That was awesome. Why would that be here???

So that too! It was massive, 4 big engines, and seemed to be going slow and lower than cruise. What was it??

You sure it was a USAF transport and not a C17?

It was a Royal Air Force C-17. I don't know if UK troops train here, at Suffield, Cold Lake or what, but they've got charters in and out all the time and now this big boy.

Some rumours out there that we MAY see the Antonov 225 here in YYC again within a day or two.
These are very "game of telephone" style rumours, a friend of a friend who has a friend that works at Servisair type thing. So I won't count on it until the flight plan is filed.
However should it come true I'll update the thread here for everyone.

It's looking pretty likely that it is just the standard Antonov 124, eta is around 9:30 Tuesday morning.

That is odd, I got no email notification from Flightaware for it. I have email alerts set up that should have been sent when the flight plan was filed, and when it departed Brize Norton.

Looks like the first AC 787 has been contractually delivered, while another one was damaged by a forklift...

^ I'm assuming that AC will be (or has been) compensated for that forklift incident...

The Antonov (white colored one) is now parked at the airport. It's next to a larger than usual Air Canada plane.

That is an AC 777-300. It was damaged on the ground yesterday, apparently the damage is severe so it may be here for a while.

Without question. AC has been compensated for so much stuff... Boeing might as well be their primary source of income at this point.
It was the 3rd 787 for AC that was hit. Looks like the 2nd one has tentative delivery date of June 13.

Conflicting reports, but it sounds like it got hit by something on the ground and there is bulkhead damage.

Still here as far as I know, YEG twitter said it was due in for 3pm now so it should be leaving YYC shortly in that case.
