If you are another GM, what would you give for Yakupov? I know I wouldn't give up a heck of a lot.

The Oilers will need more than defensive help... they need a culture change.

I wouldn't give more than a mid 1st rounder for Yakupov, in terms of value, but you always hear from the media how a lot of teams covet him.
Maybe you can screw those idiots over.

I haven't had a chance to catch a Sens game yet, but one of my buddies says they are really missing Gonchar.

Sometimes I wonder for a moment if it's fair to laugh at the Oilers and their constant misfortune.
It's hard to imagine such a poorly run franchise.

Yes, but they have lots of shots. The announcers keep telling us about them too.

Oiler kids are probably confused why other teams aren't just laying down for them so they can fulfill their supposed destiny.

Yakupov is a high-risk, low-reward player in a trade. You will have to give up a bunch to get him, but you have to teach him to care about both a team game and a three zone game. And if you push too hard, he flees back to Russia. If I'm anyone else, I'm kicking tires on Eberle or RNH because you are more likely to develop them. I would stay away from Yakupov.

So playing forwards 25 minutes a game isn't working out?

I would say that if you have one or two of those guys you are fine. If you have 5 or 6 of them (including a defenseman)... you are the Oilers.

Tired?
Aren't these young "studs" all 23 and under? What does it say about them if they are tired after 13 games?
Stauffer really is a piece of crap now that he has joined the Oilers propaganda team.

I think I'd kick tires on Shultz as well. On the oilers he looks bad, but on a team with decent depth he'd be a good #5 or #6 and could develop into a second pairing guy.
He's going to be ruined at this rate.
