Let's get this rolling
http://www.mynhltraderumors.com/tag/jarome-iginla/
Reports suggesting teams will be waiting to see if Iginla is available.
One report suggests Bruins may have Alfredsson higher on their list than Iginla

Haggerty: Pressure's on for Chiarelli to make a move
Quote:
The Bruins knew they’d have a pound of flesh to pay when the NHL schedule got heavy in March and April.
As it turned out, it took only a few weeks for the dense thicket of back-to-back games and every other day tilts to take a massive toll: Chris Kelly, David Krejci and Adam McQuaid have all dropped with injuries and both Kelly and McQuaid will be out for the majority of the remaining regular season schedule.
Clearly the Bruins are interested in Iginla’s services, and those feelings have intensified as any potential trade hopes with Ottawa for Daniel Alfredsson went up in smoke as the Senators kept on winning. The Calgary Flames captain has become the No. 1 target for the Bruins on their trade wish list, and fits the ball for Boston on so many levels.
Iginla is a fiery leader, he’s a physical presence still capable of playing the power forward position at an elite level and he was good enough to still score 32 goals last season at 35 years old.
Even better, Iginla is a player with a burning desire to win a Stanley Cup, and the current edition of the Bruins – with so many players that captured the Stanley Cup just two years ago – could use that type of insatiable hunger and unbridled competitiveness in their midst. In discussions with NHL scouts, there have been more inquiries about 19-year-old goaltending prospect Malcolm Subban than any other prospect in the Bruins system. Subban would fit the mold as the centerpiece for a Flames team that seems to have targeted a young goaltender as the desired bounty in any potential trade involving their franchise winger.
A package of Subban, a roster player (Rich Peverley is the most likely candidate given his wide range of abilities) and a first round pick would be the going rate for a player of Iginla’s ilk: the kind of return that would allow Calgary management to calm some of the angry masses surely be upset watching their superstar migrated across the country for a hockey club with a better chance to win.

something from NHL.com that I found interesting:
Quote:
With that in mind, Regier told NHL.com he will listen to anyone who calls about any player on his roster, including goalie Ryan Miller and forwards Jason Pominville and Thomas Vanek.
All three have contracts that will expire after next season and come with salary-cap hits of $5.3 million (Pominville), $6.25 million (Miller) and $7.1 million (Vanek).
|
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=661226
I knew they'd be active, but I didn't think they'd even think about shipping out Vanek ... it's about time to see an Austrian player in a Flames uniform heck, might as well bring in Grabner too
On a serious note, a comment from Rutherford from the same article:
Quote:
"We have a totally different year than we've ever had," Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford said. "We're going to have more teams in the race, and so I would suspect that you're going to pay a premium for players because so many teams are looking for them and these races are going to have a lot of teams in them right until the end."
|
that's exactly why we have to be sellers this year.

There's rumours coming down the pipe about Iggy to L.A. for Bernier,a First and a top prospect. Sutter seems to be barking out he wants Iggy bad.
But what does L.A. have for a top Prospect?
And do we want to trade him into our div?

Not too late to save this thread guys.
Roger Millions @RogMillions 6h Had to ask Jarome Iginla about trade talk. He graciously answered without saying anything. Body language showed he wasn't pleased. #Flames

Sportsnet tv tonight had Detroit possibly looking to move Filpula, and either Kypreos or MacLean had Calgary as a destination possibility

I hadn't heard any rumors of Chicago looking at Kipper but George Johnson said "Chicago is rumoured to be sniffing around. Toronto, too. Any team with Stanley Cup aspirations that needs shoring up between the pipes would be unbelievably daft not to at least inquire about the possibility."

TSN's THursday Rumors
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=418716
Quote:
Speaking of Boyle, his name persists as one of the hottest available deadline targets and ESPN's Katie Strang believes the Rangers have definite interest in the 36-year-old blueliner.
Strang notes that Marian Gaborik would be a good fit for the Sharks in return, but that his $7.5-million cap hit makes him a difficult addition for a lot of teams.
Another hindrance to a possible Boyle-to-the-Rangers scenario is the possibility that Boyle's list of possible trade destinations may not even include the Rangers.

Flames Ownership Won't Force Iginla Trade
Andy Strickland so who knows. Some of his stuff is accurate.
Quote:
Jarome Iginla may be the biggest name on the trade deadline rumor block. Whether he actually gets moved remains to be seen.
Sources say Calgary Ownership isn’t forcing the issue with Iginla. If he wants to go they’ll seek a trade but I’m told they aren’t desperately trying to move him.
The question becomes does he want to leave? This is the answer Calgary needs to know. At some point, and it might have already occurred, the Flames need to hear from Iginla to know what he wants to do. The worst case scenario for the Flames is that he stays beyond the deadline and then walks in July.
Jay Bouwmeester is another player teams are eyeing. Again, it will take a substantial package to pluck Bouwmeester out of Calgary. One league source says Calgary wants the moon for Bouwmeester.
St. Louis had serious talks with Calgary at the draft and you can be sure those conversations have carried over into the season. How much is St. Louis willing to part with to get Bouwmeester?
Sources say the Flames want youth who can step into the NHL immediately. Jaden Schwartz fits this description and I’m told he’s a player they have their eyes on.

There is no lack of talk going on. Standings are tight making trades tough. FLA, WAS, SJS, CGY, DAL, PIT, BOS, VAN are among most active.

In any case, Iginla is on the Penguins’ radar, and Shero has coveted what he could bring in the dressing room – veteran leadership and a sense of going for it attitude to a group that consists of 12 players to have won the Cup in 2009 – as much as what he could do on the ice; though, Shero does believe Iginla can contribute on the ice.

Mark Spector shooting down some rumours: http://spectorshockey.net/blog/shoot...-trade-rumors/
Quote:
Jonathan Bernier in a package offer for Jarome Iginla. As the Globe and Mail’s Eric Duhatschek pointed out, the Kings previous interest in Iginla was two years ago, before they acquired Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. Given Jonathan Quick’s inconsistency this season, Duhatschek believes the Kings will retain Bernier as insurance this season, and I agree with him. Bernier will eventually be dealt, but in the off-season, not now.

Kane being shopped:
http://spectorshockey.net/blog/shoot...-trade-rumors/
The Winnipeg Jets could trade Evander Kane. The 21-year-old winger is among the Jets leading scorers. He also leads them in shots, hits and game-winning goals. Last summer, Kane re-signed a six-year, $31.5 million contract. Yeah, the Jets are totally shopping him. Would look good in a flaming C.
Kipper to Philly:
Ryan Miller or Roberto Luongo or Miikka Kiprusoff to the Philadelphia Flyers. I realize a number of Flyers fans aren’t impressed with Ilya Bryzgalov, but he’s been among the few bright spots in this otherwise miserable season for the Flyers. Their biggest need right now is a skilled puck-moving defenseman and a scoring forward. Bryzgalov’s critics will have to wait until this summer or next, when he could be a compliance buyout candidate, and then only if they land a more affordable upgrade. Hey, mebbe they could go after Ryan Miller? I hear Roberto Luongo’ available, and Miikka Kiprusoff might want out of Calgary…

Bouw seems open to the idea of being traded:
“When things like that are going on, you talk about it — ‘if potentially something were to happen,’ that sort of thing — but it is part of the business,” he said with a shrug. http://www.calgarysun.com/2013/03/20...-follow-flames

Spector's opinion of a rumour does not make it less of a rumour. You are kind of missing the point of this thread.
Andrej Meszaros? Might affect the JayBouw market:
However, if you’re one of those teams on the other side of the playoff fence, there are benefits to what Mez can bring. He has a very reasonable cap hit at $4 million, plus he’s under contract for next season. Under those terms, he would be a much more affordable and desirable option than Calgary’s Jay Bouwmeester, who has a hefty $6.5 million number and has never played in the postseason.
Meszaros, on the other hand, would bring a ton of playoff experience: 46 career games, including a trip to the Stanley Cup Final (Senators ’07). He’s also capable of stepping up in all situations, and if healthy (raised eyebrows), Meszaros is good for 30-35 points next season. Plus the video has Craig Berube offering his thoughts on the Flyers current season.
