That is why I have never finished Clone Wars, so many one off episodes. One episode we got Obi-Wan and Anakin kicking ass off in the galaxy, then an entire episode of Queen Abladaaodobla or whatever talking to the senate.
I'd take fewer episodes with more story driven content any day. (GoT versus Walking Dead )

The only thing that kind of made me go hmmm in that episode was that Rex was willing to let that Queen egg live.
In Clone Wars that had a really good arc where Anikan and Obi-Wan encountered a Geonosian queen and she also had the ability to enslave other races and reanimate the dead with these brain slugs.
She took over a whole ship of clones including a Barris who later fell to the dark side and tried to take over a hospital base.
I would have thought that Rex would have stomped on the egg and said there's no way we're getting another Queen.
I have to add that Rex has probably become a stronger character then Zeb, and I still believe they based Rex off of rebel in Return of the Jedi.
As well, I would still love to see a story line where Rex runs into Cody who is training stormtroopers or something like that. I think that Cody is one of the great unresolved story lines.
And if each season is a year we're less then two years away from the Rogue one time line.
I tend to think that the two years will give them enough time to give some answers in the new Star Wars movies so they can do a new series that takes place between ROTJ and TFA.

True but the story arcs when they were done were outstanding. The only failure being the Droid mission in the next to last season which wasn't good except we met Gregor who later showed up in Rebels and he was a complete bad$$$ commando

One thing I found interesting about this week's episodes is that Saw didn't appear to have any of the physical problems we see him have in Rogue One. No artificial leg or breathing apparatus.
If this is only two years prior to Rogue One, they were not an easy two years for Saw. I wonder how much of that we'll see?

I expect that he will be exposed to the gas that the empire used on Genosis which leads to him needing a respirator.
I expect that they are going to have him at least one more time and he does something that really screws the Rebel alliance that leads to his excommunication.

Well this episode was a Zeb and Chopper episode with no sign of the main cast, It was a bit of a inconsistant episode, but the middle 10 minutes or so was really well done with them hunting the episode villain and Imperial Infiltrator droid
[spoilers]
The dynamic between AP-5 Chopper and Zeb was really well done and AP-5 took some really good shots at Zeb, basically offering to teach Zeb to read and count.
The Killer Robot looks like it was taken from the early C-3PO concept sketches but its not so cute when it transforms into a 7 foot killbot. The sequence when our hero is hunting the droid and following its blood trail and seeing it ripping parts out of other droids to repair itself, felt like this droid was more of a predator then anything else.
Interesting plan by Thrawn to shoot out a bunch of probe droids to search for the rebel base, and investigating the planets where the probe droids don't report back. Simple but probably effective. You Thrawn with a fleet of Star Destroyers now and he's indicated that the time for studying the rebels is over.
We saw more of Kallus as Fulcrum which was nice, his little smirk when the Star Destroyer blew up thanks to Zeb's plan was pretty satisying. [/spoiler]
With half a season to go, this felt like a filler episode before we more onto the Darksaber story line which should be Sabine heavy.
Not a bad episode, not a great episode but it reminds you that Zeb isn't just a cardboard cutout mumbling Carablast all the time.

Yup watched it last night. Filler, but at least they somewhat saved it by having Thrawn saying his search has narrowed. You know it's going to get bad ass when Thrawn outs Kallus as Folcrum. I wonder if they will have him brutally kill Kallus, or will they go the safe, kid-friendly way and have the rebels save him?
That's one thing I miss about TCW, they would kill characters regularly. Disney is just too kid friendly.
I think they've had quit a few deaths on the show.
They killed that family friend of Ezra's pretty horribly.
The three inquisitors including beheading the senior one pretty ruthlessly
They killed the main inquisitor by dropping him in a reactor
Don't forget they pretty much showed the execution and corpse of Luminara.
They blew up the Imperial Governor that tried to defect.
Kallus booted a stormtrooper to his death.
Have they killed a main character yet? Nope except really for Ahsoka.

I'm re-watching TCW with the girlfriend right now and there is way more gruesome deaths. Most of them being clones and creatures (obviously).
But there is always a few more crazy deaths. Like Anakin piercing his light saber through Tal Merricks chest.
Satine being force choked to death in front of Obi Wan by Maul, etc.
Here's a reminder of the brutality of TCW. I understand that it's a different time and what not, but damn. It's like PG-13 VS G ratings.
Its kind of sad that they ended the Clone Wars when they did because they had a story arc that was specifically to put Ventress' story line to an end. Instead they did it in a book, and unfortunately it seems like all of the new books post Legends just aren't very well written, because the authors that were really vested in writing Star Wars books weren't asked to write.
But they did give Ventress a pretty full redemption and death.
I remember in the Jedi Lost arc when Ahsoka ended up teaming with Ventress. It lead to an encounter between her and Skywalker that was actually sad because Ventress just didn't want to fight anymore, she wanted to be left alone.
She was a great character.
