First pitch at today's Chisox/Twins. Perfect day for walk downs.

Thumbs up

Darvish sets the new MLB record for fastest to 500 strikeouts.

He did it in 401 2/3 innings.

That's 41.5% of all his outs coming by way of the K.

Even more impressive in the AL, when he is not throwing to pitchers very often.

Will post it in the Funny Pic thread as well, but man Jeff Francouer fell HARD for this prank. Pretty damn funny to see the video.

Mat Moore Gone for Tommy John Surgery. Our rotation just took a huge hit and considering Hellickson and Cobb are out hurt and Price is on the trade block still it could be a tough year as a Rays fan!

I also posted this in the Jays thread, but thought some others might see it in here as well:

As an aside, any MLB watching type of group or club in Calgary? I don't know, get together and watch a game, chat about baseball stuff, etc? Or is that hoping for too much regarding baseball in Calgary?

If I was in Calgary I'd be all about this. Great idea, hope you find something (or move back East).

Anyone catch the monthly Carlos Gomez debacle, today? Now that Zambrano's retired, somebody had to pick up the idiot title and that is Carlos Gomez. Watch and enjoy as somebody really lands a great right.

^^^ Man he is a complete moron. I can't stand his act. Hits a deep fly ball that he thinks is a sure home run, so he throws his bat down emphatically, stares down the ball, and then finally realizes its not a home run, what a loser. He's a good player too, I just don't like the theatrics.

^I don't watch a lot baseball but I bet all big homerun hitters have done that at once in their lifetime. Looks like the pitcher started it, stupid of him to say anything after getting hit hard like that.
