Wow, WJ Twitter says 6 hurt in the evacuation and taken to hospital. I wish this moron could be held liable for injuries he causes in these evacuations.

Emirates responds to the US carriers allegations that EK has been receiving subsidies and is competing unfairly.

"The allegations about Emirates receiving subsidies or competing unfairly are patently false. There is no ‘secret’ to our success – it’s all here in black and white. What the ‘big three’ US legacy carriers want is protection from competition, but that outcome would only harm American consumers, communities and the national economy."

Here is a link to the rebuttal document.

I'm assuming they're trying to get some unnecessary routes to funnel through their hub again?

Dubai to Omaha maybe?

A great article on one of the most amazing corporate fleets and private aviation facilities in the world - the Nike Aviation wing.

http://flightclub.jalopnik.com/nike-...ase-1713965840

Air Hangar 1)
Built in 2002, Nike’s corporate hangar is aptly named Air Hangar 1 (a reference to their iconic Air Force 1 shoe) and can sustain flight operations to any of the six continents where the company’s employees and subcontractors work. The facility is capable of sheltering three full-size business jets, while also offering amenities like a gourmet kitchen, a fitness center, a lounge and lavish meeting spaces.

The Fleet is no slouch either:

Quote:
Nike has operated many different aircraft over the years, mostly a range of Gulfstreams as well as a Dassault Falcon 2000EX. Today, the company’s flagship is a beautiful Gulfstream G650, wearing tail number N6453. Phil Knight also operates another Gulfstream G650 (tail number N1KE) for his personal use (see photos below).

If you need me I'll be the guy stuck flying Rouge for my next business trip....

The video fails to mention that the Southwest free-for-all turns a lot of people off and they fly other airlines in an effort avoid the chaos.

I don't understand how the random boarding could work faster than back to front or window/center/aisle boarding. Random boarding would still be plagued by the same problems as those.

Yeah. And anyone who has flown Southwest knows random boarding isn't ever a true random distribution because people are aware of which seats are most desirable. It's a predictable pattern that trends from front to back beginning with the exit row seats, window seats, and aisles. Middle seats fill in last because screw middle seats.

Are the Westjet 767's brand new aircraft? Or refurbished ones?

Refurbs from Qantas I believe. They're in great shape.

They're in pretty good shape but they're not young. WestJet is taking 4 of them, and 3 are 1991 builds, 1 is 1994.

The intention was to identify WestJet as a Canadian airline now that it has a larger presence overseas. Aside from a tiny maple leaf the current fleet doesn't have much to distinguish itself as a Canadian carrier.

Yeah that's most figure, personally I thought the Proudly Canadian at the back sufficiently accomplished that. Two massive international airline brands come to mind that have nothing to indicate nationality aside from the flag at the back - United and Delta. But when you've had your foot in the international door for many decades.
