I know the Ducks are dirty and public enemy #1, but honestly cheering another players injury is not a classy move. We constantly harp on fans from other teams on this board for being classless, like Vancouver or Edmonton, so I think we deserve to be called out when we act in the same way.

I don't feel bad for Fowler or the Ducks. And no. This is not me wishing another player an injury for some of you softer folks out there. This is Karma.

Sucks for Fowler. Reckless play by Gio but he did the right thing in fighting. That's a good captain move that reminded me of when Iginla injured Souray. No intention to injure but still reckless and a good player got hurt
I think Murray is just trying to galvanize his own team and also maybe trick the Flames into dressing a tougher and less skilled lineup (say Bollig) to protect Giordano.
Flames should be doing the same, using this defamation of their captain's character as motivation to beat them.

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but didn't Gio get hurt via a fluke? He was trying to clear the puck and his bicep just tore?
Fowler got hit on a hit.
The Devils player got his stick up into Gio's arms which caused the weight distribution to get all messed up at the exact wrong instant, and that caused the injury. Kind of a dirt bag play.

Seriously? How was that reckless, he cut across and caught a knee by fluke.

The injury probably occurred because Fowler's right leg was planted because he was shooting the puck. If contact was made a second before or after the shot, there's probably no injury and its a nothing play.
That's how fast this game is, one second could change everything.

considering the NHL, who would never miss an opportunity to suspend a Flames player didn't even bother with it at all tells you everything you need to know

Yeah nah, I don't think it was dirty.
Lazy, yeah it was lazy.

Murray always seems to be salty about something this time of year. This time last year he made it very clear in the media that Boudreau would be out of the job if they didn't have a successful playoff run.
Never good to see a guy like Fowler go down right before the playoffs, but Gio wasn't trying to buckle anyone's knee there.
I'm with Estrada on this one. My pity goes to the player and the situation, not the team.
This garbage quote from Bob Murray:
Quote:
“The big thing in hockey today is concussions but I still, as an old player, have no use for knee-on-knee hits, and especially if I think they are somewhat intentional,” Ducks general manager Bob Murray told the media in Anaheim. “I hear how Gio is a good guy, and he’s this and he’s that. The media in Toronto is saying, ‘Well, he’s a good guy.’ Well, he’s done this before. I have no respect for people who go after knees. I’m sorry but knees, they wreck your careers real quick. I don’t like it.
“I know I’ve said too much, but I don’t care.”
Has eliminated any sypmathy I feel for the Ducks.
When has Gio "done this before"?
