- 2 x White Bread

- Butter (room temperature) or Margarine spread evenly on the bread, even covering crusts

- 1-2 squares of real aged cheddar or 1-2 slice of processed cheese

- Put into pan on medium, press down gently with spatula to flatten slightly and to increase contact with heat. Flip. Repeat until browned/crispy

- Cut diagonally

- Simultaneously heat up 1 can of tomato soup and serve together. Optionally add a dollap of sour cream and chives to the tomato soup or make two sandwiches

Oh no no no, you've got me all wrong. I mean they put too many kinds of cheese on one sandwich, and then all this other stuff, like marinara, or cheese sticks, or jalapeno poppers or whatever.

I am NOT ANTI-CHEESE. Please don't suggest it!

I add a few chili flakes in between my cheese, while also putting some dehydrated garlic grates and salt in between if the cheese isn't salty. Gives some extra flavor (the chili flakes).

Change things up by using different breads.

Croissants are awesome. Cut one in half, butter it, grill it until golden brown, add the cheese, and then finish it off in a toaster oven to get the cheese melted.

I haven't tried that. But apparently home-made ketchup in any form is superior to store-bought, and doesn't take long to make from scratch.

I like grilled cheese sandwiches but enjoy a lightly dusted in icing sugar Monte Cristo sandwich.....or even better......a deep fried Monte Cristo sandwich.
The shamrock had the best deep fried Monte Cristo ever.
Man I'm missing that hole in the wall.

Google 'croque monsieur' sandwich. Awesome. Essentially a ham and cheese grilled using gruyere cheese.

We frequently make it with German Butter Cheese (coop midtown) and bartlett pear.

I like mixing sharp chedder and swiss cheese and lightly seasoning the toasted bread with pepper and seasoning salt.
