Over years of doing these challenges, I've developed a theory that "upsets often happen in Round 1 but rarely happen in later rounds". So that's basically the philosophy I'm using. None of the teams in Round 1 this year really look like potential upset candidates to me, though.

This seems to be true in a lot of sports for some reason. I guess the first round separates the real elite teams from the pretenders.
LA, Chicago, and Anaheim have shown that they don't get upset by weaker teams. The Rangers have been pretty successful in the first round as well.

You can join multiple leagues with the same or different brackets. Max 3 different brackets I believe.

Just joined. (WhoIsRobKerr) I had already made a bracket for the Fan 960 pool so it seems my picks just carried over. How convenient.

Hope you don't mind me piggybacking on your thread, but there's a CP group for the Sportsnet pool. Name is Calgary Puck, password is cp2016 (with the lowercase). Have 14 so far, looking for more.

Also, I noticed this in the rules for the NHL.com Bracket Challenge:
Quote:
LIMIT: ONE (1) REGISTRATION AND A MAXIMUM OF THREE (3) BRACKETS/ENTRIES PER PERSON AND PER EMAIL ADDRESS DURING THE PROMOTION PERIOD
|
You can add 2 additional brackets by clicking on the "Add Bracket" button. Don't leave those entries on the table! Also possible to enter the group with all 3 of your brackets.
Edit: I see I skipped a couple posts earlier saying pretty much this same thing. Still good to know the exact rules I guess.

Holy smokes, 162 entries already. I thought it was going to be 25 players or so.

I have St Louis beating Chicago and Anaheim beating LA.
This could go very wrong or very right.

Well since LA is playing San Jose and not Anaheim, I'd say it has already gone very wrong. ;-)

Yeah I two off board picks are St Louis beating Chicago and Detroit beating Tampa, which means I got Florida making the ECF.

Nice work thanks for the invite. I have Florida as first round fodder for the NYI and the Caps winning the cup.
Eric'sBracket is mine!

Nope, you can have more. Click "add bracket". Also, a bracket can be in more than one league.

I am making my bracket literally by flipping a coin. Higher seed is heads. Here we go.
And we have the Phiadelphia Flyers beating the Minnesota Wild ( ) in a hard fought six game series to win the cup!
