Difficulty of finding a good goalie > Difficulty of finding good D-men

Disappointed that they didn't select McKeown.

Surprised we passed on some of the available d-men, but I'm happy with a goalie. If this guy turns into the next Quick, then we won't be complaining in a few years time.

The exact same thing was said about the Gaudreau pick, so maybe it's a good sign.

Would have preferred Mckeown here but MacDonald looked like best goalie in the draft and while Ortio looked okay last year we are pretty weak in goal overall and have nobody other than Ortio going forward.

I thought they'd pick him but thought it would be at 54 or 64, but it looks like goalie race right now.

I don't know much about this pick, however, it is amazing to see all these posters calling it "Dissapointing"

I would bet that 99% of these posters have never watched a single game when Dougherty McKeown were playing.

A waste of a pick would be taking a guy that wasn't even ranked. We are talking about a player that was amongst the highest ranked at his position. I would have preferred a defenseman or RW but I don't pretend to know much more about these players than the draft guides I read and the Flames have been scouting these guys for years.

I thought that was odd too. Maybe they have some inside info from Gaudreau on Demko? I wasn't overly impressed with him in the games I watched, but he was the consensus top-rated G...

Not completely sold on the pick yet. I mean, his original team didn't even think he was good enough to start for them, which is a little concerning.

Best goalie at under 18s. He's big. Not going to act like I know much else about him and being annoyed.

Gillies? Who's a stud

Flames would have gotten a good look at Demko not? Looked better under Boston Colleges team?

Too early for a goalie for me - would've preferred Roland McKeown. Was my top ranked goalie though...

Damn you Anaheim, wanted Petterson. Good Goalie is hard to find though.

Look at the Ducks. If anything being overstocked at the goaltender position provides lots of options that most teams would love to have.
