perfect, that's exactly what I hope to see next season.

Cory Schneider: 136
Braden Holtby: 132
Cam Talbot: 116
Matt Murray: 72
Jonathan Quick: 71 (AHL + ECHL)

Gillies: 47

It's premature to pencil in Gillies as an NHL backup next season.
To me that looks like you want to give Gilles about 40 AHL games next year and 10-15 NHL starts with 25 being a backup. The year after is similar. Then 3 years from now he takes the starter role having about 100 - 120 AHL games like those on the list.

Elliot on a 3 x 5 would be perfect with Gilles and Rittixh being backups

NHL:
Elliott: ~50 starts
Gillies: ~15 starts
Rittich: ~15 starts

AHL:
Gillies: ~25 starts
Rittich: ~25 starts
Parsons: ~20 starts
McCollum: veteran backup

ECHL:
McDonald: ~40 starts
Parsons: ~20 starts

gives you a solid NHL #1, a couple of young goalies who get used to the league as well as seasoning in the AHL and gives the other young guys enough time to develop and get used to the pro game.

Planning a three headed monster in goal is insanity.

You didnt factor in Schneider anywhere and I doubt he goes back to junior.

I imagine McCollum will be loaned out again or traded.

Thats not a 3 headed goalie monster when the 2 backups can pass freely to the ahl without waivers.

Yeah I understand McCollum was signed because we needed a goalie for the expansion draft but he's got decent stats in the AHL and as a former first rounder, he once had high expectations but has never gotten a chance.

Yeah but if one guy isn't good enough for 20 to 25 NHL starts, you'll miss the playoffs.

Yeah, I wasn't advocating the allotted starts in that post.

As I said earlier in the thread, I'm hoping we sign a good veteran starter and let Gillies/Rittich battle for the back up spot in camp. Loser of that battle goes to be the starter in Stockton, and the winner doesn't go back down to the AHL unless he's stinking up the joint.

Meanwhile Parsons, McDonald and Schneider all battle for the back up role in Stockton and the losers of that battle both have to get their starts in ECHL unless there is an injury somewhere in the pipeline.

McCollum loaned or traded.
