Motorcycle procession/chase?

Walking through my quiet Marda loop neighbourhood just now, there was a procession of 50 to 100 motorcycles, including what looks like a few hells angels, followed by 10 or so police vehicles with lights and occasional sirens, full of officers, some of whom appeared to be in body armor. We thought it might be a funeral procession but the hearse turned out to be a paddy wagon.

Any idea what I just witnessed?

If I remember correctly hells angels club house is in Altadore.

I saw one motorcycle pulled over on SB 14th street and 17 ave, one Edmonton police SUV, once RCMP sedan and one Calgary Police ghost truck at around 1pm. It was very strange.

I saw the same thing about an hour ago down south. 50-100 bikers coming into town east on 22x/Stoney trail at Mcloead. They were followed by 10 cop cars, some RCMP some CPS and an RCMP helicopter following them as well! Was pretty weird to see all those bikers followed by cops and the heli! Anyone know what's up with that?

I've seen it before. Hell's Angels and affiliates ride with a heavy police presence.

So the police just follow them, or they request it?

Police on the block where the clubhouse is and helicopter circling overhead for the past hour

The police just followed them as a show of force is what it looked like to me. They weren't at the front of the line.

I was coming off the ferry in Horseshoe Bay with a bunch of Hell's Angels with me on my Honda 800 VFR. They're going at a good clip, about 125, so I decide to keep up with traffic. At the first interchange all these cop cars come out and fall in behind. I slowed down as I didn't want a speeding ticket.

There is a Hell Angels clubhouse in Marda Loop on 20 St and 37 Ave SW.
