The old Mercury Bobcat, I got it when I was 16, it was actually this paint scheme.
It was gutless, ugly, a hot chick repellent, one winter on the deerfoot the accelerator jammed to the floor and I was stuck at about 80 miles an hour which in that stupid car felt like warp speed. It handled like a brain dead dog. In the end it leaked and burned oil like a saudi states favorite client.
But it was mine.
I still remember once driving it on the icy roads one day and having it skid through the chainlink fence of the Calgary Herald building to gain its first battle scars.
I hated that car, but at the same time I loved it.

Haha yeah, in high school I inherited my parents '86 grand marquis, which they'd purchased off a real estate agent. It was white, with a bit of rust
My friends loved it, and it was a good highway car. Funny that after all these years and after owning a few more modern vehicles, my current ride is a '91 town car

1971 Ford Ranch Wagon. My parents gave it to me for my last year of High School. It was awesome to have so much room for hauling people to parties and smootching withe the girlfriend. I eventually got rear ended and Insurance gave me $500. I donated what was left of it to the Sir Winston Churchill High School automotive program and they took the engine, a 351 Cleavland, and dropped it someones mustang.

Rico, you're the only on so far with a cool car. I had an 85 Hyundai Stellar. What a ####box.
One of my friends had a 72 Chevelle SS. 454, passed everything but a gas station. So fun to cruise around in.

Here they come
The boys in the bright white sports car
Waving their arms in the air
Who do they think they are
And where did they get that car

It was a fun car, but not reliable and parts were expensive and hard to find. Two 10" subwoofers was also too much for such a small vehicle.

Admit it, you had the furry steering wheel cover and the fuzzy dice on the mirror.

1996 Chev Cavalier Coupe
Loved it at the time. If that car could talk, they could make movies about some of the things she saw. Sold it to a kid for $1500 when she crossed over 200k.

Wasn't that the same car as the Mitsubishi eclipse?

I was in my first year of university and my dad told me he was going to buy me a car...turns out it was my cousin's grandma's car (she was moving into a home).
1985 Plymouth K car (this would have been in 2005). It was in fantastic condition, and she had kept literally every piece of paperwork for any work done on it, all at the dealership basically. I guess back in 85, a passenger side mirror was an option, because this one definitely didn't have one, or ever have one for that matter.
I cringed when he gave me the car, but when I was living in residence I was basically the only one who had a car, so everyone loved it. I can remember driving back to Calgary with 5 people in the car, only hitting 100km/hr going down a hill, and feeling the car bottom out every time we went over a bump.
Terrible car, but some pretty funny memories.

the first vehicle i bought.... back in 1997 i got an '89 chevy - standard cab, short box, step side. i bought it off a couple that were in Brooks. they had an addition to their family and didn't have much use anymore for a '2-seater'. i found the same thing when my kids came along... but i couldn't get rid of the truck - love it too much!
i've done a little work to it over the years....
back in '97 when i got it:
and how it is today...

1976 Buick Skylark, orange with twin black stripes running from the trunk to the hood. Had Cragar Super Sharks on it instead of the orange painted wheels this one has.
I loved it but it was crap!

I remember driving my Dad's station wagon as a teenager. In the movies, they all make fun of that guy. My friends were thrilled that I had transportation. It had a cassette player, we were set!

My cousins had one of those, the back end was jacked up. My grandfather said it looked like the car had been kicked in the ass.

My first car was a big, bad 1994 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. I've never had a car as great since. It drove like a tank, but the best thing about it was the horn that sounded like a train coming through.
I'd love to pick one up again at some point. I've been driving tiny, fuel efficient Japanese cars ever since and they're just not the same.
