Just gauging some interest here. I've tried this in the past but notice was too short. Maybe with decent some lead time we could make it happen.

Proposed date would be Sunday, June 11th. Not a significant weekend, as Fathers Day is the following week.

There seems to be some pretty big Car enthusiasts on the site. And some pretty amazing rides. Bring out your hot-hatches, land-missile sport sedans, European weird-for-the-sake-of-its, Classic whatchamacallits, dude-bro'dozers, American V8 penor-extenders (that's what I'm bringing), or the family minivan for all I care.

Would start with a quick meet and departure at my dealership. Hot lap it on the 1A for a fully provided alcohol free BBQ at yet to be determined location around Canmore, and go our own ways from there.

If you want to sign up, reply in the thread with a picture of your ride. I'd be looking for a turnout of at least 20 to make it work.

Anyone want to see my 2007 Sierra? It's got a DVD player in it!

My 07 Nissan Sentra has some little rust spots developing on the hood, but if there's enough interest in seeing it I'll drive it down from Edmonton. Might have to Go Fund Me for the gas money though.

Hey, I could just have a big BBQ at the lot here. It's not like it's gonna cost me anything.

Haha and now I don't have anything in the stable I'd want to bring.

Love the idea. Unfortunately can't make that weekend. If the dates happen to change I'll bring my dirtbag truck/camping rig conversion.

I'll see your crummy Ford Flex and raise you my 2002 S-10 with custom rust patterns. Might be better for me to bring my mountain bike, I think it is worth more...

Should I get my kids to be extra messy over the next couple months? We can have a dirty Flex competition.

This sounds awesome. I am currently on the hunt for a regular cab, longbox F250 with a canopy for this exact type of project. I've owned a couple trailers, but I really just want something that's ready to rock in minutes, and can he parked anywhere. It's never more than two of us. And I'm not into the whole glamour RV thing.

Sounds awesome. I'd love to see some pics.

Yeah, in retrospect I'd rather have a reg cab/longbox combo. Had I known when I bought the truck I was going to do this I might have done it that way. However now I just had to work with what I had. I do like the tiered storage in the box though, even just for tooling around. Nice to have 4 people in the cab, skis on the bottom, bags on the top in the box over winter. Rather cozy for ski trips.

I'll throw some pics up once I get it finished!

Why the 250? Towing as well?

Once you set everything up in the back, at least the way I plan to, I'd be adding in the neighborhood of 1000-1200 lbs. I just think a heavier duty rig would better. Plus, solid front axles. Way lower maintenance and trouble free than the independent front ends that have been creeping into modern trucks.

That's so awesome, man! I love camping like that. I have a minivan that I can convert to camp mode in about 10 minutes. I made blackout curtains that go all around the interior windows using factory hooks and oh-crap grips as anchors. Put led lights throughout and even made some screen windows. It's totally incognito so I can hunker down anywhere.

For your mattress, the best place to get custom foam is Sureline Foam in the NE. They'll even wrap it in vinyl if you want for a decent price. That's a nice touch so you can wash it off really easy or store it in your garage and not worry about getting dust and stuff on it - just wipe to clean.

For my bed I just throw all of my patio and lounger cushions in the back and it's super comfy. For some reason I made the goal of decking out my minivan just using stuff I had around as it's kind of fun to do it spending as little money as possible. Funny thing is, I have a kind of cool car right now, but when I read this thread the first vehicle that came to mind for bringing out was my camperized minivan.

Love your set up, though. Crazy what just getting that topper gave you as an extra recreational vehicle. That is a billion times better than tenting and way less hassle (and cozier) than a trailer.

Thanks a million for the foam place. I'll call them on Monday.

Yeah it's funny. I always thought toppers were pretty goofy. Now I wish I had put one on from day 1. Got some little festival chairs and even just with that it's awesome for après beverages or tailgating after biking.

Spoiler!

On a note completely not related to this thread I think someone should organize a CP show and Shine, I would attend.
