Great choice with The Main Ingredient. I love how it samples what is perhaps the most annoying KRS song (Sound of Da Police) and makes it work on a really chill track. Pete Rock is a genius.

Green Day were decent, but there are much better punk bands from the 90s.

One of my favourite record of all time

And since world music was mentioned

Man, Naveed was such a good album. I don't know what happened, but nothing they wrote after came close.

No love for Sublime? They were pretty much the soundtrack to my high school years.

What is with all of this hip hop having lyrics with meaning? Actual content? Oh yeah, it's the 90s. Forgot that was a thing.

Some of the picks (although great) reminded me of another 90s classic.

Although one thing that these songs reminded of is some of the great complete albums that were released (much more regularly).
Our Lady Peace 'Naveed'
I Mother Earth 'Sceneryandfish'
and this album was incredible beginning to end...

That's just sticking to some Canadiana.

There were quite a few bands and artists that were great in the 90s, but also great in other decades as well. Some shone brightly and then fizzled out by Y2K, and for me that marked the era.
