I don’t see the upside in the lineup that’s going to have them in too many offensive outbursts this season. Feels like a good day at the plate is 5 runs.

And with their pitching and defense, 5 runs will likely win them a lot of games.

85-88 wins I could see. Pitching health has to be the biggest concern that could impact that. If they can stay healthy and continue to get elite starting pitching then yep we will be right there.

To make it worse this year though, it appears that Bo has also become nearly completely useless.

It's no wonder the Jays tried to give Ohtani nearly three quarters of a billion dollars this off season.

This really good team is failing to become a really great team because it's superstar core pieces are severely lacking.

Such a waste.
While I agree it looks eerily similar to last year, offense is down league wide, even April over April. It's possible that MLB messed with the ball again. Or it's colder or damper than last year. The new ball (after the 2021 and Aaron Judge 2022 super happy fun balls) reacts more extremely to weather. I remember last year homeruns started flying by mid May for most teams.

Now that I think if it, I am interested to see how long Bet MGM offers their $10,000.00 pool each weekend where if you bet $10 on a player to hit a home run and it ends up being a grand slam, you end up splitting the $10,000.00 (in free bets) with all who won their bet. It probably disappears come May.

Better results but the same problems. I only harp on it as I feel they are going to waste another season of epically good pitching and another year of a contention window.

Right now the role players are caring the offense that won't last. Hopefully this is not a streak for Varsho and he has found his swing. Much better at bats lately. Now teach Vladdy not to wildly swing at the outside breaking ball.

Swanson has struggled but I think that is the lack of a proper spring training. Pretty stressful time for him so I will give him a pass. He will be fine. Loving Garcia right now. Man is on fire. Just mowing people down. Bullpen is in good shape even with the odd injury.

Bobby Witt Jr. is everything I want in a ball player. So good at everything.

Quoted for truth. My favorite player at the moment and it's not even close.

13-10 ground out 7 times gets you 91 wins. It's not a flashy sexy team that's going to explode for 20 runs once a month, but pitching and defence are pretty constant and let's them stay around. Come post season you need better hitting. But I do think an upgraded bat should be easier to acquire than pitching would be.

Could have walked that ball over from 3rd and still would have gotten Kirk out there.

Crap Vladdy just missed a 2 run shot there.

Clutch hitting and Jays still don't go together very well. At all...
