Default Anyone watching the Scotties at all?

Really like the format this year with the 2 pools and 16 teams total with the top 4 from each pool carrying their records into the playoff round.

Alberta has looked really good, those girls from Lethbridge can flat out play. Jennifer Jones looks her deadly self and the wild card winner Einarson has been really good as well.

Nunavut had a team for the first time....and they shouldnt have. Though they were needed as a balance for the field, they conceded every game and were outscored 74-23 on the week. Curling Canada will have to figure that one out some how.

Lots of curling in the PO system and then they go to the paige system for the weekend.

Any of 5 teams could win this thing IMO. Good TV fodder on a cold weekend.

I’ve been watching some and overall it’s a great tournament. I often find women’s curling more entertaining than men’s because they play a lot more strategy. Sometimes the men’s game is just huge hitting, and strategy kind of goes out the window.

I also like this format. I think that it could be a good weekend of curling for sure, and then we’re into the Olympics which is always pretty cool.

You bet. It's excellent to see the young Alberta rink doing so well.

Parallel to that, Michelle Englot's Canada rink is strong too, which is a testament to what fitness and experience mean to this sport. Strategy, of course, plays a part, but if you're not in physical shape, everything passes you by. She's had a reemergence in her career and I think that's pretty cool.

Is there any way to watch the games outside of subscribing to TSN?

Curling Canada puts most games up on its YouTube:

It's not live, but usually up the day of.

And just like that, Alberta falls into a tie for 2nd after 1 defeat. They got slobberknocked by Nova Scotia and the old vet Mary-Ann Arsenault.

Tomorrow afternoon should be a beauty...Scheidegger against Jennifer Jones.

I like the format but I agree that it could be more competitive. I think if you're already adding a wildcard team, why not add three wildcard teams and only one combined team from the Territories? I mean, it's the national championship but there's only four teams from the top 10 rankings who are playing in it. Alberta and Manitoba's provincial tournaments can make the same claim.

Anyone watching want to explain what Alberta was doing that end? I'm watching with no sound in a garage but that was bizarre.
