Maybe it's because I'm not in the US, but I doubt that many people would immediately recognize Alex Jones.
Its because you're not in the US. Jones had a surprisingly large following for an internet crank, and it has only gotten larger thanks to Donald Trump's endorsement of him.
He at the very least has a recognizable voice. You might not recognize him walking down the street, but if you saw him ranting into a camera, you'd probably figure out who he was pretty quickly I'd bet.
Also, what an a-hole. People are allowed to tell you to go screw yourself. You don't get to go up and get in their faces and intimidate them for it. I'm pretty sure he got exactly what he wanted there, though.

Anti-fascists, I guess we're called now, drowned out the 'Free speech' rally in Boston. I've read there were 20 arrests. No riots. It started at 11, and was over by 1:30.
I don't think the last week has gone the way the Nazis thought it would.

Undoubtedly the alt-right will say that they had the 'biggest rally ever' regardless of what the photos say.
When I see the overwhelming response to a small group of alt-right protesters like in Boston, I'm happy and concerned.
Happy because F those guys, great to the public so engaged....
Concerned because, if I was an alt-right strategist, I would be thrilled that I could get people to reply with so much energy while expending so little. Its a little like how Osama Bin Laden planned to bleed the USA dry by executing attacks that cost maybe $100k to organize and elicted trillion dollar military responses.
My point is, those who would oppose Trump and the nasty forces of intolerance (which I believe are deeper than is publically appreciated) need to pace themselves.
