I'm surprised to learn that Rooney is only 31. There's been tons of talk about him being past it (and obviously, he's been around for years) so I assumed he was 34 or 35. Good signing for Everton.

Dani Alves has chosen Paris over Man City.
Daniel Levy likes this.

So do guys on my Men's League team, but they arent paid a fortune to 'stay in shape.'
An out of shape guy giving 100% isnt saying much.

The deal is the deal, Everton have improved significantly, probably the second most, over the window.
United are the clear winners of this move though. Rooney is past it and expensive and was becoming a selection issue whereas Lukaku is a beast. Fantastic player. He is basically Ibra if you could dial time back a decade, hes a phenomenal player.
Everton? They did as well as they did because of Lukaku and I think they're going to regress without him and Rooney's not going to help that.

What a mess this is: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/...-heart-tapped/
Liverpool apparently changed the date on the fathers signature, which sounds pretty low. But then you read the entire chronology and it just feels like the father is no saint in all this either. I just feel bad for the poor kid here as he probably just wants to play and enjoy his life!

Completely mismanaged.
Remember when they were the dominant team in Europe, regularly. And the potential to be a huge global brand on the same scale as United.
They have just stagnated whilst others passed them by. Next Everton is about to have a larger stadium.

Has he considered running to be the President of FIFA? Albeit £327M is chump change so he might not be ready for the big leagues just yet.

King Power, the Thai company that owns Leicester City, is reportedly facing a lawsuit in Thailand.
Per the Guardian's David Conn, Oliver Holmes, and Phakarat Ryn, King Power is accused of short-changing Thailand's government over duty-free takings at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, the country's capital. The company, which purchased Leicester in 2010 for a reported fee of £39 million, allegedly failed to pay ฿14 billion (approximately £327 million) from the operation of the airport franchise, as the original grant from 2006 requires 15 percent of the income to be paid to the government. A copy of the lawsuit was seen by the Guardian.
Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, King Power group chairman, is the chairman at Leicester City, while his son, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, is an executive for the company and the Foxes' vice-chairman.

Guardiola reportedly spending £90m on a pair of full-backs ... £40m for Mendy and £50m for Walker.
Only needs another £200m for centre-backs and centre-midfielders and manager god Pep will again show that he can be successful.

I'm going too disappointed with selling Walker to City, but I was kind of hoping that after they sold their players that no one would sell them anyone to replace them.

Really good read.

How a transfer really works - agents, tapping up, WhatsApp and why clubs can't recoup fees with shirt sales
The Independent asked Jake Cohen, a sports lawyer who has worked on a number of high-profile transactions in football, to clear up some common misconceptions
Transfer season is in full swing, and while there is nearly bottomless coverage of rumours, negotiations, and deals, there are still some questions about how transfers actually work from a business perspective.
In order to shine a bit of light on the business of transfers, The Independent has asked Jake Cohen, a sports lawyer who has worked on a number of high-profile transactions in football, to clear up some misconceptions and discuss some of the finer points of the business of a transfer.
|
Quote:
In logistical terms, many negotiations are largely conducted via WhatsApp.
Many agents and club executives prefer WhatsApp for a number of reasons – everyone always has their phone at the ready, it’s easier than e-mail, the group chat feature, there are read receipts so there’s never any question as to whether the other(s) received the latest information you sent, and you can message and call worldwide from anywhere on the planet.
Additionally, WhatsApp contact info never has to change if the user doesn’t want it to: for example, a high-profile club executive recently began a new job with a club in a different country, and he has a new e-mail, office number, and club mobile number. However, his WhatsApp number remains the same. So, it remains very easy for relevant stakeholders to get in touch with the executive without having to track down his new club-specific contact information.
It might sound surprising, but in 2017, WhatsApp is an indispensable tool for many involved in football transfers.

It's 50m
He's 27 and his only real elite skill is pace
I think walker was a great fit, but he was outperformed by trippier last year who is an excellent crosser
If the rumors are true Pereira for 22-25m to replace plus the 25 to help invest in other places
It's a no brainer, levy was smart to wait until Alves went to most. Left city with no other options and they raised their offer by 13m

Naturally John Terry and Chelsea is in line for charges after the ploy to kick the ball out of play so he could have his retirement party, right?

Joe Hart to West Ham. One year loan and an option to buy.
Certainly his best option in the PL. All the other teams which could afford him have better goalkeepers already.

Lol, of course it's a loan because that club doesn't actually buy players. Remember last year when they were begging clubs to loan them a striker? Good times.

Of course its a loan because it likely means they dont have to pay 100% of his wages.

It'll be a loan with an option to buy, which sounds perfectly sensible to me.
Also, I'm excited for the Javier Hernandez rumours.
