...is something you might actually see happen this summer, but not now. I just wanted a troll title to generate discussion about next season.
Do we currently have any interest from anyone wanting to join the league next year? If so, would we bring back Boston and/or Winnipeg and do something like an expansion draft where teams can protect X amount of players and the new GM(s) would select a player from each teams NHL/AHL roster? Seems like it could be super fun, and would involve league wide participation with GMs protecting players and deciding who to leave exposed. Something to cover those non-simming summer blues.
I was gifted a disgustingly phenomenal team but, after we soar to glorious victory and win the CPHL cup this year, I don't know if there will be much of a challenge going forward. The "Anyone/Matthews/Laine" line of the Flyers future excites me beyond words, but I think it would super fun to build from scratch, and more rewarding than winning with a team that had many golden pieces in place when I took it.
It would be pretty cool to be at the helm of a newly re-introduced team going through an expansion type draft. *If* we do go that route, I'd love first dibs on taking the Jets, if possible, and would consider giving up the Flyers if that happens...depending on what the process is. I'm not committing to anything but just wanted to know if there's any chance of that happening.
Happy New Year, SIM fam.
