You can be discriminated on grounds other than race.
I cant help the OP but this will bump the thread up.

I have watched pretty much every show on tv about lawyers (LA Law, Street Legal, Perry Mason, The Practice, Judge Judy, People's Court, etc), I feel I am in a position to give legal advice

You are going to need to provide an area of law that you need help with in order for you to get a useful referral.
I'm guessing employment, but it really could be almost anything with the vague description of "discrimination".
You could also try the Lawyer Referral Service through the Law Society of Alberta:

Yes, contact Lawyer Referral and ask for a "Human Rights/Discrimination" lawyer.
They should provide the names of three lawyers that must provide a free 1/2 hour consultation.

I hope you find someone good. I have no good suggestions but if you want to go a different route...In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team.

This does not answer your question, but by our Code of Conduct, we are prohibited from - "suggesting qualitative superiority to other lawyers".

To be more clear, the Code of Conduct prevents a lawyer from marketing themselves suggesting they are better than other lawyers. Despite this, there is a "rating agency" that actually awards "Best Lawyer" awards and many lawyers post them on their bios. Its not a good practice in my view.
FlamesGimp, you should look for the best lawyer for you. You have not provided enough information in your request to allow for a recommendation. Discrimination in the context of employment is different than discrimination in the context of a government action, for example.
There is no such thing as the "best law firm in town". Sometimes the major firms have the best person for the file, sometimes you can find a sole practitioner who is best suited to help with the issue.
I'll PM you two firm names that I think might be able to help you, neither are majors but both have expertise that I think might be what you're looking for.

I am looking for a lawyer that deals with resolving condo association/ management/ insurance/ contractor v. condo owner situations.
A little background: There have been 3 flooding events in adjacent units, in the past 6 months. These incidents, with various degrees of damage to my rental unit. I would now like to recoup expenses related to these events.
OT: FG did you find a resolution to your situation?

Good luck. As a fellow condo owner I'd be interested in hearing how you make out. Please keep us updated.

Are you in contact with the insurance companies? They should handle everything, but I'd be wary of any limitation dates too.
