Try out Casefile, it's probably my favourite true crime podcast. The host's Australian accent can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, but the more recent episodes have been excellent and very well researched. There's even a number of Canadian crimes that have been covered by the show.
There is also one called Australian True Crime. Interviews investigators who cracked the case.

Probably because Marek has gone full on Toronto fan boy these days.
I tend to like Biscuits with Sean McIndoe and Dave Lozo. Also Puck Soup is great, with Greg Wyshinski and Dave Lozo lots of hockey talk but lots of non-hockey stuff too.

My current podcast obsession is The Bright Sessions, "An audio drama about therapy for the strange and unusual". Season 3 concluded recently, with Season 4 debuting this fall. It's a great time to binge it and catch up before the new episodes start releasing.
I don't want to spoil anything about the show, here's the press page from the show's website. If any of that praise at all piques your interest, give this show a shot.
The Bright Sessions is described as a sci-fi drama that follows a mysterious therapist and her unique set of patients, each struggling with a supernatural ability. Created and written by Lauren Shippen, the acclaimed podcast has been downloaded over 6 million times. Gabrielle G. Stanton (Grey’s Anatomy, The Flash) and Shippen are penning the adaptation.

Huh. Did not see that coming. I expect this will another 15+hour series.
When the heck is Carlin going to do the history podcast that he was born to produce - the Conquest of Mexico? It's so obviously in his wheelhouse: dramatic, extreme, full of incredible personalities, brutal, colourful, epic.

The BBC ‘in our time’ podcast just did an episode on the Mexican American war which was great.

If anyone is into horror storytelling podcasts I highly recommend Knifepoint Horror.
To me it's one of the best podcasts out there. It is not over produced or inflated like a lot of similar podcasts of its genre. Great stories and narration.

I think Daniele Bolelli did a 4 part series on the conquest of mexico for History on fire and I think Carlin endorsed it saying he couldn't do it better. Carlin appeared on episode 19 of HoF and the next 4 were about the conquest of mexico.

I drive a lot less now than I was in the past, but I still open the app to listen to Stuff You Should Know. I'm really far behind, so hopefully the current stuff is as good as the 6+ month old stuff I'm on right now!
Josh and Chuck's banter is fantastic, and it really doesn't seem to matter what the topic is.

Nice, I am going go try Dark Poutine and Knifepoint Horror on my days off Thanks!!
P.S. Glad you like This Sounds Serious, Hockey. I am myself a meteorologist so I got a particular kick out of it The Onion has a parody podcast called "A Very Fatal Murder" that is also hilarious.
