So do you still have the option of just doing a normal, offline 30 year Franchise type mode in Connected Career, where you control the whole team and also all the FA/trades type stuff? If not, this is a complete pass for me.

Connected Career as a player is the same as Superstar mode from previous versions, Connected Career as a coach is the same as Franchise mode from previous versions. The only things missing from the old franchise mode are fantasy draft, player editing and NCAA importing

From what I've read the improvements outweigh the downgrades by a huge margin, I'm excited to get it

In my player career I'm a RB and in preseason I got ~125 rushing yards per game and expected to be the starting RB on my team. Nope so far I have played 6 games and have 5 carries for 22 yards this season. Pretty much the only time I see the field is returning kicks. Will it be like this all season even though Donald Brown is sucking a big one?

It's not like previous years where you get to start no matter what your rating is. You actually have to be better than the guys in front of you on the depth chart.

I bought it on the PSN when I got home. Its only at 35% so far, I'm gonna have to wait til tonight to play most likely. Can't wait to start a season as the Broncos. Ill probably make a connected career player too as a WR

I got it for PS3, but this is the first time I've played a madden game in like 10 years. I'm pretty bad at it.

One thing that annoys me is the field of view when you go to hut the ball? I can't see my wide receivers when the play starts. There doesn't seem to be a way to widen the camera angles.

Really enjoying the game so far, though defense can be unforgiving if you don't stay on top of things in a game (especially if your team is the Titans...). They've balanced it this year such that offense is a little easier, and defense a bit harder. Drew Brees notched like 84 points against me in a pre-season game earlier today. Not going to notch up to all-pro or all-madden difficulty until I get a better grip on it.

Also, it seems goofy that there's no way to manage your audibles or playbook from the primary "Coach Career" menus. You have to wait until you're in a game, in which case the changes that are made aren't saved afterwards. Also, I'm still getting a hang of the seemingly complex "auto sub" system, and the game doesn't seem to save the changes that you make to your "Schemes" in Coach Career, from game to game (I keep trying to change my QB scheme to "West Coast" but it reverts back to "Strong Arm" on its own).

This "Infinity Engine" is the real deal, though. It results in some goofy moments from time to time, but is definitely the way that the Madden series had to go, with most of the other sports titles having incorporated some form of truer physics. The way that players topple around on the field appears much more fluid/realistic, and has a significant effect on the way the game feels. I also think the fake twitter/news feed thing in Career mode is neat as hell.
