Still it was a 1-0 game after extra time.

Not crazy to think that a world class player like Di Maria (who was probably having more impact on games then Messi pre-injury) could have made an impact.

Today's game though, not at all an indication of the World Cup final. Different teams, different stage, and much more motivation for Argentina than Germany.

Di Maria is awesome but if we're going to play the "what if" game we should probably include Germany missing their best player, Marco Reus. I've only seen the score and an disappointed as Germany did go with a pretty good lineup. But as SuperMatt said all the motivation was with Argentina for this one, we already won the match that mattered.

This is just my opinion but Goetze has not done much of anything since he left Dortmund, well other than scoring one of the biggest goal's in Germany's history. It's too early to say he's much like Sahin or Kagawa who couldn't replicate their magic elsewhere, but Goetze needs to do something for Bayern this year.

the Telegraph had an idea yesterday to sell it, it suggested to Spurs but the stadium plans are too far along, Chelsea might make more sense, and then to travel more with England while still having Wembley for the big games. Get some money back, and invest some in youth dev.
You're complaining about it being half empty and then suggesting selling it to Spurs? And, no, I'm not trying to be clever here.

What would you do? A Wimbledon job where you rename the club Wembley Spurs? Taking Tottenham out of Tottenham?

But, anyways you're not worried about it.

The fans were all class on a so called night of celebration booing Gomez.

I guess the games really are more fun when they don't matter.

I dont know about that, but every player/team/manager has a different motive in a friendly. Some players set out with something to prove, others mail it in and some coaches want to try new things and others want to get their systems sorted out.

And then theres the massive substitutions, you generally see almost 4 whole different sets of team setups in any one game.

Theres too much inconsistency even in each team to really take anything meaningful out of friendlies.

Hence the reason a lot of countries want to drastically reduce the number of friendlies played.

France 1 - Spain 0

Spain managing only 58% possession and a whopping Zero shots on target.

Italy 2 - Holland 0

New Dortmund player Ciro Immobile scored 3 minutes into the game for Italy.

Italy played Conte's favoured 3-5-2 and appearing to control the game off the bat scoring twice in the first 10 minutes and a Dutch player sent off for a red.

I still am mad at Prandelli for not going back to a 3-5-2 against Spain in the Euro 2012 finals.

My very elementary knowledge of Wembley, is that West Ham should use it.

Prandelli wasn't very good. Very tactically naive. Balotelli single handed beat the Germans. He thought that would happen again in the final but lightning doesn't strike twice.

Conte is a great tactician. Italy will be dangerous again in 2016.

no no, the paper suggest selling it to Spurs

I don't think they can because the Tottenham new stadium project is too far along, and with the 60k seat stadium they won't have any issues selling it out

I think if/when Chelsea want a new stadium, now that Battersea isn't an option, it might be something they can look in to

No team in London would sell out Wembley for every game, but the big games would sell out, and I think Chelsea could get 60+ same as Arsenal and Spurs for every game

At Wembley. They could make an event of it and sell tickets. Free Millwall Hammers for the first 1000 people in the stadium.

Just as the announcer said, this is the best time for Scotland to get this game out of the way.

No:

Schweinsteiger
Ozil
Khedira
Hummels

And obviously Lahm, Mertesacker or Klose.

Missing 7 members of the World Cup winning team.
