Boy do you have this wrong.

The parent pays taxes, therefore she is the customer. The province/government faciliates on behalf of the taxpayers.

This 'in the best interests of the province' is socialist garbage.

In my opinion there are too many policies happening that should be the individual's responsibility.

Either way, this whole case could have been managed much better from all parties. How about everyone getting together and explaining the circumstances of the child.

Communication people...its not hard. Getting media involved for a case like this is really quite silly.

Yeah, you may think I'm ideologically wrong, but it's not ideological to me and you are simply factually wrong. Parents are not customers of schools any more than they are customers of the police, military or Canada revenue agency.

Whether you like it or not, state education systems and curricula around the world are not designed to serve parents as customers. They are state institutions designed to benefit the stability and success of the state.

I will agree with you though that getting media involved in this case is likely over-the-top and it likely could have been resolved otherwise.
