If someone trying to give me their opinion about the Flames is so uninformed that they honestly believe that Brian Burke is the one pulling the strings, that person is automatically not worth listening to.

The only people worse are the ones who respond to the inevitable reaction of "the Flames' GM is actually Brad Treliving" with "yeah, well, in name only".

If he can, then the Flames have a winner.

He's a former Asst. GM of the Leafs and that explains a lot.

Hockey's version of old men yelling at clouds. That set looks like when Kramer hosted a talk show in his apartment only worse.

Mike Smith has been in the league for 10 years and has a save percentage of .913 having played on bad teams almost his entire career. They compare him to Jim Carrey somehow.

then they complain about his salary...that the Yotes are paying part of

Guy has been an all star and on the Canadian olympic team "one good year"

I'm still a little peeved we weren't able to sign Hickey and that he's no longer flames property. He was such a slick/smart guy to watch in camp scrimmages.

I can't see him signing in Phoenix. Might as well go FA now.

While disappointed he didn't sign, as long as he doesn't end up in Edmonton or Vancouver, I'll be okay with it.

Arizona is probably one of his best bets to make the NHL. Not a lot of talented D prospects to compete with and OEL might not stay long term
