Honestly, I don't think I give Gio enough credit for how willing he is to sacrifice his body. There are some incredible blocks in this video.
My favourite plays of his in the video are his snipe at home vs MTL, and his beautiful patience and shot-pass to Tkachuk at home vs DAL. Also murdering Dustin Brown yet again was glorious.
Accidentally voted Frolik, meant to vote Versteeg.

I actually moved my seats this year solely to get away from the knob sitting behind me who will stop at nothing to harp on anything Gio does each and every time he touches the puck. Just thinking about it makes me rage.
AC, rather than make an individual vid, how about a team one. A 2016/2017 Calgary Flames highlight reel featuring the best of the best from the individual reels you've done this far and any other noteworthy stuff. Would be a great topper to the summer, imo.

Thanks AC! I voted for Bennett as the next vid, but a "best of 2017" hype up video would be cool - kind of in the same fashion that you did your teaser video last fall, but maybe a bit longer (the way you included some Elliott/Brouwer stuff last summer was a cool touch).
Watching this video got me thinking. The Boston Bruins won their Stanley Cup in 2011, when Zdeno Chara started the season at 33 years of age.
Until he proves otherwise, Giordano is one of the very best defensemen in the game, and anyone who spreads rumors of his decline should be thoroughly rebuked.

Really happy you added all of those great defensive plays at the start by Giordano. He doesnt get enough credit for his defensive game because he's so solid offensively but he's extremely smart on the backend. Never takes himself out of the play to make hits but doesn't hesitate when the opportunity is there.
What I like about Giordano is he doesn't take unnecessary risks, but doesn't hesitate to pinch and create scoring chances when it's the right time to do so.

Great player and captain
And he is the example setter and teacher for guys like TJ and Dougie, but also Kulak, Andersson, Kylington, Fox, Valimaki etc. These kids are learning the trade from one of the best.
1) Mark Giordano's shot blocking ability is vastly underrated. Guy is relentless out there and it's something I've never truly appreciated about his game.
2) the Gio "Bar Down Snipe" is a thing of beauty. The goals against Vancouver and Montreal where he rips it bar down are amazing.
Looking forward to another solid year from at the Captain

Gio was awesome last season. He had a tough start like most of the team did. But once he settled in, I thought he was actually better then the season before even though he didn't put up the same offensive numbers. He really calmed the team down and was a force most nights.
