Minny goes Wild for DD

The Minnesota Wild are pleased to announce the acquisition of elite dman Drew Doughty.
The blueliner arrives via a deal with the Ducks that sees Sami Vatanen, Michael Ramussen and a 1st head to Anaheim. A bag of money is also heading to Minny.

GM Farhall: Drew is one of the top dman in the league and with this acqusition with think we have the best blueline in the league that will present oodles of issues for the opposition.

The Wild D now boasts Drew Doughty, Oliver Ekman Larsson, Alex Goligoski, Kevin Shattenkirk and Seth Jones.

This was a tough trade to make as we have had Doughty on our team for years. However we needed to add some more youth to the system as a lot of the young players are now on the main roster. Adding Vatanen gives us a guy who can play top four right now and at the same time we had a first round pick and a recent first round prospect.

These were easy talks as both managers had similar valuations so it was just a matter of picking the prospect to finish the deal. The wild are stacked this year but you never know with the Sim.

Just stick with it Scorp, your effort is there and I have no doubt that you will see the payoff because of it.

I've seen many of teams rise to the top with your type of activity, I'm horrible being able to pull off deals (I'm my worst enemy) and very poor drafting has done me in. But active Gm's like yourself I find get over the hump sooner than later

This will be an interesting deal to follow. Grant had the assets to pay up and grab DD whereas the Ducks needed to restock the cupboard. Looks like a win win for now.

Just imagine it like one of those mobile games, where you havent spent any money, and Grant has dropped like 2 thousand.

Not much you can do, but its so satisfying to win.
