#BlueJays relievers have now surrendered 11 HR. Only LAA (15) & DET (14) have given up more

You get what you pay for. You can't lose Cecil and Benoit and replace them from the dumpster and expect to not have issues. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

It's like anything and everything that could possibly go wrong for this team, has gone wrong, and it's still April. I can't even imagine a worse start than this?

You can say that about the hitting, you can say that about the injuries, you absolutely cannot say that about the pen. This is the third year of this. Just a garbage pen. This is par for the course. The only difference this year is that we don't score 6-7 runs a game which makes it look worse.

I agree the bullpen is a disaster. Hoping Grilli was going to be the same Grilli as last year was wishful thinking on the Jays part.

Osuna is the big surprise for me though.

Grilli from last year wasn't great. He blew some
Games, and would have blown more if the D didn't bail him out a few times. Grilli doesn't have the control to be an 8th inning guy anymore.

Seriously, the Jays should just burn most of it to the ground. They are going to finish in last in the AL east barring a miracle and I don't see any of the problems magically fixing themselves.

But was it really that hard to predict the injuries? I said it multiple times in the off season thread. We had all our starters healthy last year. Team on average use 9 starters a season. Odds were a starter or 2 being hurt easily.

Tulo is always hurt so not that surprising.

Last year we were healthy and had to win a wild card game to get into the playoffs. We went into this season with a worst team, and praying everything would go right again.

Their offseason made no sense for the long or short term success of this team. It was idiotic.

At least I won't be called a troll in this years offseason thread !

Holy hell. The Jays actually score first off an error.

Wasn't even close. Why send him? I get being aggressive on the pads but Morales is slow.

No kidding. I turned it off after the third and was rather shocked to get the final score results.

The good news for the Jays is that they have plenty pieces to move at the deadline.

Estrada, Liriano, Grilli, Smith, Howell and Barney are all on the last years of their deals. Estrada is the only one that would fetch anything of real value.

Bautista has a mutual option for next year, so he is basically on the last year of his deal too. With the way he is hitting now I can't see him garnering much in return, but a team might look at him as a power bat.

Donaldson is arbitration eligible next year, but if you are trading away a bunch of these guys anyways you may as well move Donaldson as he will probably fetch some nice high end prospects in return.

Happ has another year on his deal which gives him a little added value.

If Smoak keeps up his current pace at the plate I could see a team valuing his defense for the playoffs and he has one more year at just over $4m and then a club option.

Not saying they are going to completely tear it down though they probably should, but if they want to restock they have some moving parts to get it done.

Trade Liriano, Happ and Estrada all to AL East teams. Start a bidding war!
