Heat down 1-0 early in the 1st.

Jankowski can stick handle in the offensive zone so well. Managed to find Hathaway after confusing 2 defenders. It was almost Gaudreau-esque.

I missed the first goal, but the second goal was good offense more than bad goaltending IMO. Perfect one-timer from a good position through traffic. Stockton let the Baby Sharks set up in their zone for too long with not enough pressure. They've on the other hand been unable to establish good zone time.

Mangiapane and Jankowski just had a dominant, dominant shift on the cycle to draw a penalty. Hathaway and Andersson also contributed to the shift.

Angeledis PP Goal! Mangiapane and Janko should have assists.

Bollig!!

2-2

Okay now I forgive the Brandon Bollig trade.

Kulak should have an assist

Shots 19-14 in favour of the Barricuda.

Surprised to see Phillips in over Klimchuk. How does he look against grown men?

Phillips / Aagard / Caroll have barely seen the ice. No special teams time for any of them and Huska has been riding the Janko / Vey / Angeledis lines.

San Jose carrying all the play in the third period. Shots are 30-21 but the score is 2-2.

No baby flames player has really stood out in this third. Rittich has been good but he's also been a tiny bit lucky on a few bounces where he failed to track the puck.

Stockton definitely looks like an 8 seed against a 1 seed.

EDIT:
After I posted that Stockton took back momentum. Mangiapane just had a great chance splitting the D

30-28 shots

5:24 remaining in regulation. Next goal probably wins the game.

EDIT2:

Doetzal iced the puck (for no reason. Have I ever mentioned I don't like this guy?), and the Baby Sharks scored on the next sequence. 4:00 left for Stockton to tie it up and force an OT.

3-2

31-31 shots.

5-3 the final score. Kostka made it 4-3 on a point shot and then a San Jose player got an empty-netter.

Stockton faces elimination on Sunday.

Who should start in net? I would say neither goalie has looked like a world-beater but I would go with Rittich as I simply don't trust Gillies at the moment after the first two games. Rittich didn't lose Stockton this game, but he was outplayed by the goalie at the other end as I thought he could have had goal #3 and while #4 was an odd-man rush, it's stops like that that prove you're ready for the next level.

...That or let Tyler Parsons go Surprise! GodMode. If anyone can steal game 4 it's our little phenom.

Other changes I would make? AOM for Doetzal. Doetzal skates better than AOM, but he just isn't an AHL-caliber hockey player. AOM is.

Forward group is fine. Jankowski was a bit guilty of Tanguay/Gaudreau-itis with the constant centering of the puck instead of shooting. Mangiapane was a monster in this game. Biggest issue was clean breakouts with possession. Too much passing to no-one from the boards.

Did Gillies just get pulled in 2 straight playoff games?

Ouch.

That's not what you wanna see from your top goalie prospect.
