This would be a good time to change our goalie coach....

Are you suggesting that we replace Sigalet with this guy?

I mean, if you're gonna poach someone, do you really think it should be someone from one of the worst train wrecks in NHL history?

Much rather see Labarbera promoted quite frankly.

The league has simply evolved past his dated blocking style. Everyone can shoot top corner and low blocker so taking away the bottom is not enough.

Right... because it'll stay that way lol. There are goalies in the AHL that need coaching.

Not saying this guy is the answer, just available and a lot of CP calling for Sigalet to be fired. I didn't realize that Allaire is that out of date, mind you Randy Carlyle was too and adapted to the new game.

Just being sarcastic.

Zero chance he works for the Flames as long as Burke is with the organization. He was a great goaltending coach but his last few stops haven't ended well and you have to wonder if he's getting a little dated in his methods.

So that's Jim Corsi and now Allaire turfed. I wonder how teams can justify these firings. I mean, what does a goalie coach even do? These guys don't play the games.

I don't think I have heard anything positive about him as a goalie coach for a while now. He was touted as some goalie whisperer, but it seems most goalies do worse under him. IIRC, there are goalies that actually disliked him (though for the life of me, I can't think exactly who it was).

No different than a MLB team firing its batting coach for example as the coach plays a role in dictating preparation, development, even the mental aspects. You identify an area of your team that's been performing below acceptable standards and you go through the variables in players and coaches. Flames would be wise to leave no stone unturned in trying to solve their goaltending issues.

Head coaches don't interact with the goalies directly often. Goalie coaches are there for preparation, mental and some degree of stylistic/technical support.
