It just looks odd playing Tanguay at C and Cervenka at LW.
Cervenka is not strictly a center, nor was he.
I'm a bit baffled as to why he was sold as a center to Flames fans to begin with. Yes, he played some center with Jagr - but he also played LW. Hearing from Hartley this year - even when he played center, it was not a system that relied on the center for sound defensive play, which is exactly what Coach Bob's system does.

I like HUdlers expression and will borrow it this one time " gotta get back on the horse"! They played well enough to win against Chi and desrved better......keep up that kind of effort and the boys can string together a nice winning streak. I think Detroit is a different team and know we can beat them easily with the same effort as last game. GO FLAMES GO 5-2 .....WHO fights Too Too tonight ?
I actually think we win this one for some reason. I think that loss to Chicago will light a fire under a lot of guys. If Glencross, Hudler, Stempniak, Bouw and Kipper have good games I think we can light them up. Need Bouwmeester to bring his A game. Funny how once Giordano was clearly our best d and this year it's not even debatable who it is.

I don't think that's what he said he wanted to get back on

I like our chances in this one for some reason. Detroit doesn't play a very physical game either, and I think we have the mobility now to mess up their puck possession game.
Kipper has me worried though. It's kind of sad that based on this season, even an average performance isn't guaranteed. But if he's on top of his game, I believe we have a pretty good chance of getting our first real win this season.
The wings aren't the same team without Lidstrom, Holmstrom, etc. They showed it in the past when the rare occasion when Lidstrom was hurt, the wings weren't dominant at all.
The wings aren't the same, I think the flames really outplay them tonight and come out of Joe Louis with a convincing win... and that's when the streak begins.
If guys like Cervenka, Hudler, and Backlund consistently got Iginla's matchups, they might not look as fresh as they do now. I understand the coach here. You have guys who have played those minutes all their careers, and then you have two unproven players and a career secondary scorer.
Sure, but I was mostly talking about PP. Backlund has under a minute, Iginla and co are pushing well over 4 minutes per game. 5on5 wasn't my main point.
If they play up to their potential and Kipper plays strong they win. IF they don't they lose. My prediction is 3-2 Flames, goals by Glencross, Cervenka and Hudlet.

I remember this being the case with Backlund last year as well. Virtually every time Backlund got PP time his unit scored, yet there was never any significant increase in his time.
