I remember reading up on him after the draft. His junior coach basically said he's a blue chip prospect and that any team that drafted him would get an absolute steal. Now I don't know if I'm gonna call him a blue chip just yet but someone whose 6'7 that can skate and has a shot picked at 186 is amazing value. I was disappointed with his early production in the ECHL but holy cow has he been making it up. Can't teach what he has. Has all the characteristics that most late bloomers have, especially at his size and country of origin. If he grew up playing hockey in Canada he probably is a first round pick, year after year we see players from the backwaters of Europe get passed over just to find out they are late bloomers who weren't developed properly but have immense potential. Loved the pick when they made it and am loving it a lot right now. The Falcon, his name has so much potential

Off topic but I hope we sign Adam Ollas Mattson - he's actually the type of d-man our system is lacking.

Listed at 6'3" and 215 on his Swedish teams website, he is playing bottom pairing at ~14 minutes per game, but still leads his team with 63 hits and is a plus player.

Sure his 3 points don't look amazing but a steady stay at home guy that is physical is an organizational need.

Really hope they bring him over to the AHL next season to see what we have.

For comparisons sake Niklas Hjalmarsson (Also 6'3" 200+ lbs) only played 10:21 per game in his 20 year old season in Sweden, had 2 points, and was a minus player. Now look at him.

With his junior production I was pretty surprised we picked him up where we did as well. That being said sounds like his offense has never been in question and needs some work in his own end.

He's also the type of defenceman that seems to shrug off hits like they're pillows.

Someone should get Niklas Lidstrom to coach falkovsky on defensive positioning and stick work. Why hasn't anyone done that yet? Hire Lidstrom as an assistant and coach d men on how to play.

Could definitely be a useful player, if his defensive game is very sound a pairing of Faklkovsky and Mattson could be fun. Ahh the future

Yes Lidstrom would be very inclined to go to the ECHL in butt #### no where to help our prospect. I'm sure the coaches he has are just fine

That's awesome!! Have to think he gets called up at some point to the AHL this season at the rate he's going.

Lidstrom? For Falkovsky?

No way, Robyn Regehr.

The Heat really need some help on the PP. All three of Falkovsky's goals tonight were on the PP.

I know Falkovsky is weak defensively, but sometimes you simply have to promote a guy and see how he does.

There is no downside to bringing him up to Stockton at this point.

and he scores the lone goal in the shootout and wins the game... technically scored all goals in the game for the Thunder who win 4-3.
