Powerplay Quarterback
|
should waive seto. is anyone really gonna claim him? 4 GP 1 SOG and a -2. I understand not wanting to look bad for UFAs but...i mean if you're real talk having a hard time cracking this roster as a natural RW then it's really no surprise whats happening

Waive Setoguchi, wait until Jones is inevitably hurt again and call up Ferland. He's earned it with his play thus far, down in Adirondack.

No just use to him. Justin Abdelkader had some advice for any future linemate. "go to the net with your stick on the ice and he'll find your blade"
So far all I see is his linemates behind the net or the play dying on their sticks along the boards.

So no roster move yesterday? I guess one is needed before game time today?

Guessing Jones will be activated today and the Flames will send down Josh Jooris.

It would be perfect if he had gio and Brodie but Hartley is very particular about protecting Johnny's matchups and gio/Brodie are out against the top players.

I noticed this exact thing too.. I always watch Gaudreau's shifts very closely and am thinking 'Dang I wish Gio and Brodie were out there'

Isn't that the only option at this point assuming Raymond doesn't go on IR? Setoguchi would have to go through waivers and wouldn't pass in time to be off the roster. Or does he simply need to be put on waivers with the intention of sending him down to keep the roster under the limit?

I'm guessing they're making sure Jones doesn't re-hurt himself in a morning skate before making any roster moves

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
#Flames LW Mason Raymond, officially day-to-day with upper-body injury, has been placed on injured reserve.
Which means Flames don't need to make a roster move and send someone down.

Figured something like that would happen. I can't remember how the rules work, is there a time window that Raymond cannot return to the lineup, or can they activate him at any time?

Yes according to the CBA, a player placed on IR cannot play for a minimum of 7 days.
However you can retroactively place a player on IR, meaning that 7 days could start from Saturday if they went that route.
Regardless Raymond will miss the game this Friday too.

Millions and Steinberg just reported he is "week-to-week" with a possible shoulder injury. That's not good.

It would have been great to give Granlund/Ferland a chance to play, but we already have enough players up here.

Shane O'Brien has played in 42 of 82 (and then a buyout, so...you could say 42 of 164...)
Tanguay has played 26/92 games, Sarich played 54/82.
Quick, someone tweet that to Feaster.
