At Saddledome today. Told six weeks for Stajan to heal. Another four weeks at least to rehab and possibly play. Much worse than 2-3 weeks. Sorry guys.

Something similar happened to Daniel Sedin a few years ago.

He elected to have that part of the finger amputated to decrease the recovery time.

But he isn't wrong. With rehab could be up to 10 weeks. That isn't severe. At his age is probably is.

Are you saying the 4 weeks to rehab is in addition to the 6 weeks to heal or it is part of the 6 weeks? It's good to know the commish is keeping Flames fan up-to-date.

If it's an MCL sprain (just guessing), then he won't be advised to put much weight on it for at least 3-4 weeks. You can do *very* light exercises during this time, but nothing too much. Once he can start to put weight on it and has basic stability, then the more serious rehab.

My bet: in 6 weeks he might be back on the ice for a skate. I'd wager he doesn't play another game this year.

Best of luck to the guy. I think he brings an important presence to the team.

If he's back in exactly six weeks, his first game back will be on December 9 in Toronto. That's 17 missed games. Almost a quarter of the season.

That's pretty severe. It's not as bad as we all feared when it happened, but it's a considerable chunk of time to miss.
