Default Buffalo Coaching Staff Changes

Quote:
The Buffalo Sabres today announced several changes to the team’s coaching staff, effective immediately: Assistant coaches Joe Sacco and Jerry Forton have been offered reassignment within the organization’s hockey department; the contract of assistant coach Teppo Numminen will not be renewed; goaltending coach Jim Corsi will not return as part of the team’s staff next season.

Maybe we should hire Joe Sacco since he seems to be the key to tanking.

Also... tough day for Corsi.

Sacco was on the Sabres' coaching staff? Well, now everything makes sense ...

Wouldn't be surprised if Corsi found his way to Dallas to rejoin Ruff.

Wow I did not know that Teppo was an assistant in Buffalo.

Make me wonder how many other ex-players are assistant coaches that I dont know about.....

Hes going to develop a reputation. If Eakins hadnt done so well this season I could see Sacco replacing him.

And while MacTavish had nothing but glowing praise for Eakins 3rd last isnt dead last, and if you're not first you're....I dont know how word that.

A winner! Well....at least for the Oilers. Better than dead last?

I'm surprised they didn't keep the 'Tanking Specialist'.

I don't think it's fair to demote Sacco. He helped deliver 30th overall which is all you can ask from one of the worst coaches in the NHL and you really can't fault him for the draft lottery loss.

Nice. Maybe this will finally mark the end of all that "Corsi" stuff when we're trying to have an uneducated conversation about a player.

"Former NHL goalie Arturs Irbe is regarded a potential candidate to join Nolan's staff.(Sabres) Irbe has previously worked with Nolan, who has spent the past three years coaching the country's national team."
