Powerplay Quarterback

I'll go with:
Hudler-Monahan-Colborne
Glencross-Backlund-Gaudreau
Winnik-Stajan-Kulemin
Reinhart-Bouma-McGrattan
Baertschi-Knight
Brodie-Giordano
Russell-Greene
Smid-Wideman
Wootherspoon
Ramo
Ortio
I have a feeling Burke will make a splash this off season, but I can't even begin to guess what it will be. Winnik, Greene, and Kulemin all have size and can play with an edge, so I figured Burke may go after them.

This should be wrong, and excuse my spelling errors on players names. I'm to lazy to check spelling on some of the out of town guys.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Iginla
Hudler - Statsny - Jones
Glencross - Backlund - Colborne
Bouma - Stajan - McGrattan
press box: Knight, Van Barbant
Giordano - Brodie
Russel - Myers
Smid - Butler
Press box: Breen
Ramo
Montoya
Draft I think We end up with Drasittel, and he gets another year of seasoning. I think the top goes, Ekblad, Reinhart, Bennett. Although if Bennett is Second, maybe we get Reinhart, he might not be the right fit for Edmonton.
Buffalo will Trade away Erhoff in the off season to a playoff team, then replace him as the powerplay QB by trading Myers for Wideman + Beartschi. I think Wideman is a good fit with their D core, a vet that plays a different role than many of the kids they have coming up. And Beartshi still holds the value of a Top Offense prospect, but it is organizationally our deepest position.
Burke uses his Team USA relationship to bring in a Center that can make Backlund and Monahan earn top 6 roles. Statsny.
The Wolf Romours turn out to be all Feaster and he ends up in Vancouver after they sign Jay. LOL
Fresh off a Stanley Cup win Jarome comes home, to pull the trigger for and protect Johnny.
After twisting in the wind for several weeks as a UFA, Montoya is picked up by the Flames to play 20 -25 games. Perfect guy for the role, lots of skill. Can hold the fort for short stretches, but will not get in the way of Ramo, Ortio, or Gillies developing over the next 3 -5 years.
Gaudreau Makes it out of Camp, because the AHL will do nothing for his development.
Van Barbant and Breen Add truckulance to thre press box.
I think that team could take a serious run at the playoffs, with 2/3 of the D and 1/2 forwards in the early to mid 20's. Lots of room to grow.

F - David Wolf - Matt Stajan - David Jones
F - Matt Kassian - Lance Bouma - Brian McGrattan

I believe Burke will make a big splash before next season starts:
GlenX + Baertschi for E. Kane
Kassian and Wolf add lots of size and belligerence/truculence (haha) to our line up and should intimidate every team we play!

That's why the talk of extra points.
You are right though... it is very difficult.
It is intriguing too because we know that to hit the floor the Flames will need to add significant salary... but who will that be?

What are we doing about injuries? If a UFA is signed but is put on LTR for example and not in the starting 23, then what?

Asset to offense, liability to defense...
Would be interesting if that ever happened.

This is kind of how I see it going. I don't think we do much this year. I think it will be one more year till Calgary looks like an attractive destination.

Icon has 72 potential points.
Muta has 72 potential points (could add one more scratch forward)
spuzzum, yeah I don't think injuries count, if they are injured for game #1 and not in starting lineup then you won't get credit for them.

Is the floor 53 million? That is what I aimed for and it was tough to get there.
Added Quincey on defense just to make it and kept Wideman on the team but would prefer to see Wotherspoon up here instead.
