Oh yeah, I agree...Do the Flames give out a team MVP award? He has my vote...

I think in one of those Flames video, Jiri said he likes playing with Sean and Johnny because he can scream at them on the bench and they won't say anything back.

That was gold.

How cool is is that both Monahan and Hudler will both most likely get 30 goals this season. Unreal.

I love a good Hudler love thread

I would like to see him in the Flames uniform for a few more years, so extension would be fine by me. He has been great on and off the ice.

Hudler is totally awesome. I never thought this guy would be top 10 scorer in the league (4th in the west, 1st in pacific) which is franchise player level.

The most improved thing about his game this year is his willingness to go into tougher areas more than any other year I've seen him play. Gone is the primarily perimeter play that I saw from the last couple years. He's been getting knocked around a lot for his trouble, but it has actually improved his play overall. He knows more now where to pick the proper spot to head into a corner, or alternatively lie open a little further back.

Good show on his part.

Giordano is going to miss 25% of the team's games though.

the thing that always amazes me is that Detroit had Jiri Hudler and Valtteri Filppula ... and they decided to let both of them go and sign an injury-riddled Stephen Weiss and an ancient Daniel Alfredsson for similar money instead. Just mind-bogglind GMing, if you look at it from today's perspective.

I really think the way the Flames organization treated Hudler when his Dad was struggling and then passed was a big moment in Hudler's career. The Flames really became his new family and welcomed him more than most organizations should be expected to, and I think Hudler really took that to heart. He puts his whole life into this team, the way he acts defines this team as a family moreso than any other player, and I believe the actions the organization showed to him at a difficult time in his life played a big part in that.

I've said this before about jiri: If giordano is the father to this team... Hudler is the wacky uncle.

See Bob Hartley's comments today on Hudler - from the 4:25 to 5:25 portion of this video clip.

He says Jiri grew up in one of the best organizations (being the Detroit red Wings) and learned from leaders like Lidstrom and Yzerman and what he learned there he is now committed to do the same (as a veteran for the Flames).

"he understands he is a veteran, he wants to compete. He's pushing hard for us and is a tremendous leader both on the bench and in the room. Whether by example, or vocally, he's been a force for us."

With 9 goals, 12 assists, 21 points, #Flames Jiri Hudler has 4 points more than any player this month. Will be be #NHL's 1st Star for March?

Likely the leading candidate. Could ice it if he has another point or two tonite.

I'm looking forward to AC's 60 minute long compilation of 2014-2015 Hudler highlights

He's been the perfect vet for the Flames this year.
