Default FLAMES Playoff Push Positive Intentions Thread

With Gio out for the season and other teams gaining steam in the Western Conference, things are looking bleak.

Lets do a collective CP Jihad and pray / meditate before every game.

This is Brodie's opportunity to prove to the NHL that it isn't just Giordano that makes him good. He played really well against the Isles and when Gio was out last year, so I am confident that he'll do it again. Another player that stepped up was Russell.

The biggest test this season for our beloved Flames. Time for them to show Gio how inspiring a leader he is.

I still have hope.
As big a loss this is to the team, other teams are also suffering from injuries or setbacks and we're right in the thick of things.

I don't think anyone questions that. But yes, good chance for him to really step up.

What's the over/under for how many D men we pick in the draft?

Love this thread. Finish what Gio started.

I can see Wideman, Brodie, and Russell all stepping up and elevating their games. With Wideman playing the prank today, it's good to see the group is staying loose.

Like the idea of this thread 1stland. Win em for gio!

They'll block even more shots. Gaudreau will start lighting it up again... Starting tomorrow night against his favourite team growing up as a kid. Monohan is Mr. Clutch and the rest of this season is going to feel like constant overtimes and 3rd periods.

Ramo and hiller will battle to the end for the number one spot and both will look shut the door down the stretch.

Everyone do yourselves a favour and listen to Cinderella Man by Eminem right now. It'll get you jacked up for the push the flames will put on in the name of their heart and soul leader. Go flames go!

Just reading "Finish what Gio started" has given me serious chills and goosebumps. There's just something about this team that gets me so emotionally attached. Probable or not, I believe. Playoffs 2015, here we come.

Finish what Gio started? He was one piece of the puzzle. The team as a whole got us here, the team will get us into the playoffs. Guy isn't dead, lets save the tributes for the lost

With LA struggling a bit again, and San Jose somewhat selling (?) at the deadline, making the playoffs may just be a matter of somehow beating both those teams out. I'm not convinced that Vancouver is a lock yet, either.

It will make a playoff berth all the more sweet if we make it without GIO.

Honestly, I have seen it happen in Winnipeg this year and I think Calgary can do the same. We lost our entire top 4 and glued it together with Buff and AHL call ups. I think the Flames can easily rally together and make some magic happen. Would much rather that, than Minnesota or LA make it.

Gaudreau will finish the rest of the season at over a point-per-game. Monohan will finish with 32+ goals. Book it fans. The kids will put the team on their backs. And so will Brodie, wideman, and Russell.

Let the rest of the league and the analysts say this team is done. Let them say after every win that they can't sustain it. The flames will rally around this and make the playoffs.

Your D core is built differently. Very competent top 4 or 5

Flames ice 1 elite pairing, one middle/bottom pairing and one AHL pairing.

Flames need to drop 5 pts in the Standings for a top 10 draft pick 15 pts in their last 20 games.

Gio has been a monster all season. Brodie Russell and Wideman have been having career NHL season to date... How in the world can anyone expect them to play better and pick up the slack.

To say that missing Gio will not have an impact is to totally diminish the season Gio has had.

and it turned out their best D man, their Gio equivalent was playing forward.

Maybe Bouma is secretly a Stud D-man?
