Welcome to the Genius Game
Going forward, you will play a total of 14 rounds of games.
1 player is eliminated after each round
The person who survives until the end will be the champion.
You received a gem inside the invitations. That gem will be the currency used in this game, called a Gaudreau.
A Gaudreau is worth $1 CDN. At the end, the champion's Gaudreaus are exchanged for real money to be donated to the charity of the champion's choice (winner take all).
For example, if there are 100 Gaudreaus, the champion will receive $100. Of course if there are more than 100, it could be a larger amount.
Gaudreaus may be provided before a game, or gained and spent within a game, They may also be used in negotiations with other players.
Of course the number of Gaudreaus will fluctuate throughout the game so that final prize money could be anything. Having many Gaudreaus means you will be able to gain an edge in the games.
Each round consists of a main match and a death match. The main match decides who will play in the death match. The death match is a 1x1 game to decide who will be eliminated.
Every player participates in the main match where a winner and elimination candidate is determined. A game's winner(s) will receive a token of life (Gios) which grants immunity from the death match.
If there is a sole winner they will obtain Gios and can give one to another player (other than the elimination candidate). The elimination candidate will pick another player (who doesn't have a Gio) to join him in the death match.
The winner of the death match will receive half of the losers Gaudreaus and advance to the next round. The other half will go out of play and the loser is eliminated
In this thread, The Main Match of each round will be introduced each Friday afternoon. Then the remainder of Friday and the weekend will be used for any questions and/or game rehearsal.
On each following Monday morning the Main Match and time blocks will be announced. A Main Match may last a few days or longer. The death match will immediately follow.
We hope to do one round per week but it some rounds may take longer.
In between rounds, we will open the thread to the non-players for their opinions and comments.
Unlike Mafia, this game is completely open. At anytime players may post in this thread, edit posts, send PMs, use chatrooms. Everything is allowed of course other than threats and abuse (normal forum rules)
