Great job by the Flames scouting him and bringing him to camp last season. Can't help but be confident with the organization when they are able to identify and grab players like Foo.
We have no idea how Foo will even translate to the NHL. Start him in the A.
Honest question for everyone here: If the option is to let Foo start the year in the NHL vs. re-signing Chiasson to take a roster spot for a year, which would you rather do?
If it's me, I give Foo a chance. Great college players have come directly into the league and had an impact before.

Kid scored better than notable hyped prospects Caggiula, Hyman or Vesey in each of their final years in college, not to mention he's 6'0 180lbs, so not undersized in the slightest.. And being a RHS RW doesn't hurt
Caggiula was playing in the NHL in the same season you are referring to. They are the same age (Foo is a couple weeks older IIRC).
I think Foo has some good potential. I think he would be AHL bound no? Unless he has a stellar camp?
This has already been an amazing offseason and we aren't even into July yet.

He's on the team. Rumor is he wanted a guaranteed spot in the lineup rather than in the minors. Edmonton told him he would most likely be in the AHL so they were told they were out.
Very similar to Versteeg last year (Edmonton never guaranteed him a spot). Had they have, they would have signed him but in both cases they didn't so both players signed with the Flames.
He definitely has an easier path with the Flames given our sparse RW depth.

But yeah, pumped he's here! Wonder if him getting #15 means that management has high faith in him maybe earning such a low number quickly.
