"If he signs with us, he's a winner, because we are the only team who have a chance to win. Anywhere else and he's a selfish money grubbing prick." Lol.
the audacity of that lot to call themselves winners after all those years. Pretty incredible ... zero self-awareness.

In his interview with Ryan Leslie he cites several reasons for choosing Calgary - hockey stuff like opportunity on wing, team on verge of winning, etc.
What was also interesting was the life things like where he'd be living and even citing demographics specifically.
I wonder if being Asian by decent and picking a city he'd be comfortable in was what he's referring to. I just found it interesting, perhaps Calgary's multicultural vibe was appealing, or maybe a simple level of familiarity.
So the NHLe seems very accurate in all these cases. Interesting!
Would be great if he's a similar player to Zach Hyman, whose game I really like.
Great signing, just what we need with very few draft picks the next few years. Caggiula's NHLE of 44 points is 13 points higher than Foo and Caggiula mainly played a 3rd/4th line role so that's the more realistic spot to start him. As you mention, Zach Hyman seems like a decent comparable too.

Yeah I noticed the demographic comment as well and wondered what he meant by that. Maybe he was looking at Detroit and Las Vegas with those remarks?

Oilers fans blow me away. You'd think I'd have gotten used to it by now right? A decade. A friggin decade of absolute garbage and they act like they've done something. Like their shrewd rebuild has suddenly come to fruition. You won a lottery and were awarded the best player on the planet. That's it. So shut up.

Did Plaedo just post the entire text-based front page of NHL.com in, what is that, an iFrame?

I don't know if it's been said yet, but kudos to the Flames scout that convinced management to bring him in for a try out last year. Have to think that familiarity played a part.
