Why are you in this thread if you've never read the books?
Because the books aren't relevant to the TV show anymore and I like reading about some of the backstory and the stuff they've decided to leave out like LSH.
To be clear I didn't mean to imply it was obvious on first or second viewing but between seasons I went back and rewatched the first season and that scene stuck out to me. This was before reading anything in here or on the Internet about Jon being a targareyan

It never occurred to me to question Jon's parentage, or at the very least who his father was, after watching the show. I started following the show after season 2, I think...and then read the first three books between seasons 2 and 3. There's a ton of symbolism in the second book that basically cemented the R + L = J theory -- but I still never considered it until I stumbled onto fansites and discussion forums.
I was away until tonight and managed to somehow stay away from any GoT episode spoilers. I just watched it and good lord of light that was one of the most satisfying episodes in the series. The dragons flew, the masters slain, and the dogs got a tasty Bolton meal with a little Sansa smile as the cherry on top.
A bit fairy tail happy ending for GoT but I think we deserved one of these.

Dude, you have posted repeatedly in that thread about not paying attention in the "boring" scenes
Except I remember watching all the scenes talked about that supposedly make the connection and I don't recall ever thinking that Jon didn't belong to Ned.
It simply isn't as obvious to those of us that didn't cruise the Wiki during season 1.

There is a book theory that Jon doesn't belong to Ned or his sister.
Nope. Video actually specifically says Ned and Ashara were nothing more than a short term couple. Says she may have dumped him for Brandon. Spends a lot of time talking about G RR martin's personal life.
He does mention that his other videos talk about a baby swap.

Speak for yourself, just because you didn't question it doesn't mean other of us didn't. I didn't catch onto these things first time around I will admit, but on a re-watch before this season things like the conversation between Ned and Robert about Jon's mother and between Ned and Jon where he promises to tell him about his mother really stood out to me and it just kind of clicked.
I thought one of the more obvious references was when Daenerys went into the House of the Undying and had the vision of the blue rose growing out of the Wall.

Yeah, that was a big one. That didn't make it into the show, did it?
So it seems like the show is streamlining some broad stroke developments that are nearly certain to happen in the books. Dorne will ally with a Targaryen, but it may be "Aegon" before things start to converge. Greyjoys may align with Dany before she sails to Westeros, but it may be Euron. Cersei may very well sit on the Iron Throne after dealing with the High Sparrow and Faith Militant, but the show through the Tyrells in there at the same time.
Quite happy that the LSH rumors were just that, rumors. I was a bit worried when they had Jamie show us how big of a dolt Walder is, plus the brotherhood just a few episodes ago. But soon as I saw the pie it all clicked. Much better pay off and way more satisfying. Question is does she go north to her family (I am assuming word would spread around a place as close as the Twins) or south for more revenge?

I would hope she'd at least stop in to see her siblings before continuing her rampage.
