Rob Kerr was saying yesterday that Playfair is pretty intense and really demanding on his players. I guess this is just what happens when he loses control of that intensity.

This could be good for a boost in Abbotsford attendance. Some non-hockey people (do you have those up there?) might want to come out and see their local celebrity.

I love Jim and I think he'll be a great coach one day. I don't see him making up to the big club for another two years, but I hope one day he gets to coach the flames again. The guy has class written all over him (not that this is an example of class, but by taking the demotion in stride) and an amazing level of dedication to teaching the game.
It’s kind of all over the sports news. It’s hard not to see it,” Backlund said with a laugh after the Flames practiced at Westside Recreation Centre Tuesday morning. “He’s an emotional guy. He wants to win. If it doesn’t go his way ... that’s how he is.”

Fellow Flames prospect Brett Sutter has also seen the clip more than once.
“I was dying,” Sutter said with a grin. “I thought it was hilarious.”
Wow, the complete opposite of how we seen him here in Calgary when he'd just take it out on his nails.
I wouldn't mind him returning during a rebuild, because he really does seem to be able to get a lot out of players at certain times. This team had an absolutely mind-blowing home record, but their road record was crippling under Playfair. The core didn't like him, it seems, and so Sutter had to jettison him. That was the first real indication of something rotten in the room.
I still hated that 06-07 season.
I also think his inner rage was revealed when he had Noodles sacrifice himself by attacking Franzen with his stick, and Langkow and Iggy started hacking at Detroit players.
