Free agent prospects

Darryl Sutter was pretty good at finding some hidden gems among undrafted/unsigned prospects. Giordano is the best and most obvious signing. He also brought in lil' Regehr, Ryan Wilson, Chris Breen, and most recently Brian Cameron

hopefully Feaster is proactive in pursuing free agent prospects, like Sutter was to help compensate for traded draft picks

So, who are the unsigned or undrafted free agent prospects out there?

1. Stephane Da Costa at Merrimack College - CBC had an article saying Da Costa is the most heavily pursued player available

2. Chay Genoway is a very skilled (but very small) d-man at North Dakota. 5'8" might mean he'll never get a shot

3. Harry Zolnierczyk at Brown Univ. was mentioned by the Redline Report as someone NHL scouts are interested in.

4. Sebatian Erixon played for Sweden at the WJ a few years back. Like Genoway, Erixon is skilled, but small

5. Andrej Stastny - turned 20 about 6 weeks ago. Is he still draft-elligible? 6'4", 215lb centerman putting up a point per game for the Vancouver Giants

Tyler Johnson from the Chiefs is lighting it up pretty good this year - went undrafted. Word is Tampa might have signed him but nothing official. Given that he is at a premium position as a Centreman he could be a real good pickup.

Flames drafted another Tyler Johnson.

I'd take a risk on the Saulnier twins (Alex, Allain). They're both tiny (5' 7" or so and 170-180 lb), but are physical and are putting up good numbers in Moncton. Plus, it'd give the Flames an answer to the Sedins .

Probably draft eligible (not sure of draft rules), but T.J. Tynan from Notre Dame has gotten my attention. He's a freshman from a town 10 min for my hometown in Illinois. He leads Notre Dame in scoring and is 3rd in the CCHA (19G, 27A, 46P). Pretty small (5'9, 160), but a pretty good playmaker from what I've seen.

I dunno the W that well but nobody I'd recommend from the Rockets really, Wudrick got drafted in the 3rd round and went unsigned, he'll probably get a shot somewhere as he is going to score 40 this year. Pretty streaky underachieving player though. Adam Brown, the goalie will be a good FA pickup for someone but he'll play here for one more year.

Zak Stebner is a 20 year old FA too, you guys in Cowtown probably know more about him as I've barely seen him play.
