Rasmus with the Lindholm take on "staying in Calgary"
Writings on the wall for me, guy wants to go somewhere and win and not rebuild.
Cant fault him for that.

My concern is maybe he doesn't want to be traded now, but if things aren't any better in two years is he going to want to re-sign? Doesn't seem like it based on that answer.
Think they have to consider shopping him this offseason.

Meh, Weegar was coming off a game where he hit a milestone and was doing a joint presser alongside Coleman (who also hit a milestone) and they were joking a bit with each other. Meanwhile Andersson was up there all alone and is going to become a father in 4 days... different headspaces.

Typical Francis. Raise an issue where there isn't one. Let's invent a problem. Honestly.

I knew Rooney is signed for next season, but I just realized Hunt and Duehr are also signed for next season. It will be difficult to fit Greer in as well, unless someone got traded (Mangiapane maybe?)

Francis is a dick, but he reported this one straight. Does Ras look happy to you?

I think Mangiapane will be traded, but I'm not sure there will be a big savings. He may well go for a similar player who struggled recently.
I'd like to move Duehr for a reclamation prospect.

Markstrom up now... pretty sure he's played his last game as a Flames. He's not pissy or anything but the way he's commenting (or not commenting) makes me think he's gonna be gone.

Rasmus is not a cliche guy. He really tries to give honest and insightful answers. Pretty unfair of Francis to cherry pick that one part of his answer.

Not that I thought he wouldn’t be traded , but Markstrom is gone. We now have to hope he doesn’t handcuff the team and only want to go to one place . He holds all the cards

Raz looks disappointed, and really, really tired. Ultra competitive dude as well. I absolutely do not read anything into this and I won't stress or worry or flip out until something actually happens.

That's not the issue. Francis reported the part of the interview that most makes it seem Andersson is unhappy. He always has an angle. I just listened to the whole 10 minute interview, and Rasmus is not happy, you are right, but he's not happy particularly because (and he said as much) he doesnt want to be done playing hockey on April 19th and facing the media this early.
I thought Rasmus was mature, insightful and honest in that interview. He didnt sugarcoat anything but also made it clear that him and Conroy talk a lot, have a 10 year relationship and are on the same page. I think Rasmus wants to win and will have to decide over the next couple of years if he can do that here, but i get the feeling he'd rather do it here than somewhere else

Let's just hope Markstrom has multiple suitors for him this off season and that he's willing to go to any of these places. Otherwise Conroy is just going to have to take whatever lowball offer is on the table.

If you can hold Mang to the deadline at eat half his salary, I think you can likely get as good a package as you do trading him sooner. But with the cap set to increase maybe more teams will play ball in the offsesson to take him on for the full season.
In some cases I don't know if you get more trading today than waiting to the deadline and he's one of them.

Markstrom is gone. I'm good with it. Needs to be another rebuilding season anyways. He propped the team up this year.
