Ego end she passed in her sleep, I am hoping that does not mean Patton woke up next to her in the morning. That would be horrible way to find your spouse.

Five days after Michelle was gone, Alice and I were half-awake at dawn, after a night of half-sleeping. Alice sat up in bed. Her face was silhouetted in the dawn light of the bedroom windows. I couldn’t see her expression. I just heard her voice: “When your mom dies you’re the best memory of her. Everything you do and say is a memory of her.”
That’s the kind of person Michelle created and helped shape.
That was Michelle. That is Michelle.
I love her.

Absolutely soul crushing. I just hope Patton (who has a long history of depression) manages this tragedy well. It would be pretty easy to slip into despair, but hopefully his daughter will keep some meaning for his life.

So it sounds like she definitely had a heart problem. She also had Xanax, Adderall and Fentanyl in her system according to the autopsy. Sounds like they were prescribed though.

Comedian and actor Patton Oswalt says coroner’s officials have told him that his wife died last year from a combination of prescription medications and an undiagnosed heart condition.

I don't think he's trying to be a jerk here. Extra weight puts stress on your heart. Combine that with a heart condition, these kinds of drugs and bad things can happen.
